And your reiteration of this has become tiresome. I think we all understand that your motivation was to solicit feedback regarding the product you hope to market. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that in and of itself. However, you’ve used this message board (and apparently many others) as a cold call method of solicitation. That is called spamming, which while also [arguably] not evil in and of itself is not allowed on the SDMB for very good reasons others have politely explained.
If I may give you some of the feedback you’re craving, I think this failure of yours to grasp the point comes across in your art. As I understand caricature, the point is to magnify salient features that already exist as part of a person’s physical appearance or public presentation. A good basic caricature would exaggerate, say, Lincoln’s gangly frame and large ears, or Newton’s ski-slope nose.
Your art, while very well executed, seems in contrast to be randomly distorted portraiture. You seem to be going for Court Jones, but achieving Fun House Mirror instead.
I’m starting to think you don’t understand the concept of message boards. Starting a thread doesn’t give you control over it. We come here to post our thoughts and opinions. You don’t get the last word just because you want it, sorry.
I originally left this thread open to give the OP the opportunity to participate, if he wished to, as a member of this message board and not as a spammer (as we define spammers – which is our prerogative to do). He has participated, but mostly to say that he’s not a spammer and we have some obligation to critique his work, or at least to provide a forum to discuss it.
We have neither obligation.
I am going to close this thread now, rather than let him continue to bump it and bring his name (and website info) continually to the fore, as a means of indirect spamming.
