I dunno, I’ve never seen it.
It’s funny that you picked this show to say that about since they specifically addressed those two things in the last episode - they entered the one apartment after the cop pointed out the door was open, and she and Castle had a whole discussion about how cops are allowed to lie to people to get more information from them, and the guy’s lawyer did eventually show up and shut down the interrogation.
Flans. It comes from a verbal slip he made in an interview and has just kept going.
Just watched both episodes online. Interesting enough and it doesn’t conflict with any of my other shows so it’s enough to tivo and watch when i feel like it. The best part is nathan though, not sure what i’d think if it wasn’t him.
So - in this past episode -
Loved the story about the guy in apt 8b - I hope they do that more often.
Its funny how they found the second nanny in the elevator footage at the end of the episode - but in all of the earlier conversations about the elevator footage no one was seen in it other than the dead nanny and the old lady.
I just watched the second ep last night. I liked this one better. I like the idea of an Auntie Mame kind of character, but Susan Sullivan doesn’t pull it off, IMO. I think the kid was added to make Castle more likable, but I still don’t like him (studly or not). I guess he’s supposed to be charming and witty, but to me, he’s an arrogant smart ass who makes inappropriate jokes and sexual innuendo (e.g., at the medical examiner’s joking about sex, with the victim - who may have been raped - lying there on the table). For now, I’ll keep watching, but if the show continues on as it has, it’s not going to be a must-see for me.
Monday night at 9 Central has turned into a major problem for me, as there are about four or five shows that I want to record or view then. With only one VCR at my disposal, Castle is a show that I will have to view later, on repeats or online.
While it is cute enough (and I am a Filionophile), I won’t be seeing it live.
Looks like they re-air each episode Saturday evening at 10 (9 Central).
Are you kidding? That’s all I hear about lately. Apparently he and I are twins, at least according to all my wife’s friends and coworkers. She called from a conference last night and said at dinner it’s still going on, that they were discussing the show and as a ‘game’ were interjecting my name into plot discussions, especially those regarding his lovely co-star. I suppose I couldn’t possibly mind though since, if it’s who I think it is, I’ve got 20 years on the young pup. Isn’t it the guy from Saving Private Ryan? That scene where he says (and I parse) They killed my brothers… but they were only in kindergarden" just cracked me the hell up. I probably need to break down and catch an episode.
Ok, so when *la *Katic cleaned up this week, how many were saying, hey, mannish supermodel?
I thought she was very striking in her red dress.
Yes, Nathan Fillion did play the “wrong Ryan” in Saving Private Ryan, he’s best know for the lead role on Firefly though. So do you get mistaken for being him or is it just people that know you that mention the resemblance?
How many people are going to tune in for season 2?
Are people aware that there’s a book being released (in the real world) written by Richard Castle called Heat Wave? ABC are releasing the first 10 chapters online and then it’ll be available to buy. Richard Castle also has a twitter account where a mystery is currently unfolding, it’s kind of fun.
I’ll watch. It isn’t great TV, but it is passable. I won’t buy the book.
I’ll watch. Nathan Fillion makes it for me.

I’m kinda surprised how many people are down on this show. I recently caught the last season (yay for Hulu) and I’m loving it. Granted, I’m an absolute sucker for Fillion, but the other actors aren’t bad at all. The writing isn’t nearly as bad as people have made out here, I can buy the relationships the characters have with each other, all the main characters are likable, and the plots are interesting.
Yeah, Castle’s an asshole, but that’s the point. He’s a big ol’ self-absorbed smartass jerk who’s gaining some definition to his character as the show progresses.
Perhaps it’s that I don’t watch many cop shows, or that my necessary standards for enjoyment are low, but I’m digging on this show and can’t wait for season 2. If you added supernatural elements, it’s what The Dresden Files TV series should have been.
Love this show. Season Two will get Tivo-ed, of course, for repeated watchings.
Tal, heh, no stranger’s mentioned it yet. I think it’s just those that knew me at 30.
I did catch an episode a month or two back. Very entertaining but I’m just not a regular with any TV dramas. My familiarity is incidental.
Count me in.
I love the show. Sure, it won’t go down in television history as a top-20 classic but it is far better than much of the dreck that is being aired these days.
Did anyone watch? Thoughts?
Ahem.
Thanks, didn’t occur to me to look for a new topic when this one was around
