Castle - Nathon Fillion vehicle

She must be a busy girl - she guest started in my dreams last night… (nothing dirty, but she *was *my romantic interest most of the night.)

Meh. The charm of the developing relationship between Castle and Beckett is countered by the stupidity of the resolution. All the episode did was mark time until data on the trust fund came back. They could have spent the entire time drinking coffee and eating doughnuts for all the good their “detecting” did. Alyssa made it a plus episode, but just barely.

Yeah, as soon as I saw

the actor playing the uncle (he was shown briefly very early), I knew it would be him. He’s a “that guy” actor. I don’t know his name, but I’ve seen him in a lot of television roles and I knew they wouldn’t get someone like him to be merely a background player.

Plus, they were a little too heavy-handed with other characters (like Alyssa’s) commenting on the Castle/Beckett sexual tension. Not one of the better episodes.

The opening was perfect, however.

I’m going to take a guess that you’re referring to the duct tape scene?

I always find it interesting to see what people here have to say, I spend time on fan sites and such and the general consensus for last night’s episode that it was wone of the best ones.

Not my personal fave but definitely somewhere in the top ten

I found the bondage overtones – especially when Alexis gets all close to his face when she’s taking the money – kind of creepy. It seemed like a scene that would have played better with a wife than a daughter.

Ok - more his escape than his being taped up - I didn’t see any “bondage overtone creepiness” in context of the scene - there was nothing sexual about it. His daughter’s actions, and his mothers comments, are perfectly in line with the show and what they have done to date.

“Finish taping up your father so we can go…”

This episode was a good one in establishing a little more about Castle’s past than about the murder of the week.

I think the point there is they have to know where to look. A recent trend this season is for them to whip out all this evidence that we never see them actually collect when confronting the killer. Sure, they might have gotten the evidence they needed eventually, but without the detective work pointing to the killer and his or her motives it might be a week or two rather than a day or two, and they’d have to understand what they’re looking at.

Not to mention that in this particular case, by the time they saw the trust fund data and realized what it meant, the video camera would have been disposed of, and possibly the tie tack as well (or at least put away where it wouldn’t stick out to the cops, since Teddy didn’t realize it was evidence). The trust fund alone is an eyebrow raiser, but by itself it’s only circumstantial evidence and not really enough to convict. The tie tack cements the case.

I agree with you, but the relationship of Castle and daughter has always been written as very intimate but not sexual.

The first few episodes, I think the girl playing Alexis had a serious crush on Nathan Fillion, and it showed.

It’s not that I think they’re trying to write an incest story line into the show – because that would be uber-creepy, and totally inappropriate to the whole tone of the show, not to mention really hard to put on network television in general. It was just that the way that scene was done gave off kind of creepy vibes. I was fine with the taping him to a chair part, right up until she gets all up in his face and quiet, and then it tipped over a line. I absolutely know that wasn’t the intention, that’s just how it came across in the execution.

Well, who doesn’t? (He really is ruggedly handsome. )

How could anyone, male or female, gay or straight, not be attracted to Captain Tightpants?

To paraphrase TVTropes, Everyone’s Gay For Fillion. Half the reason I watch is just to look at him. (The other half is to look at Stana Katic. I mean, my god.)

ABC just ordered two new eps for season 2 Link sbobet, Daftar Sbobet, Sbobet, Sbobet Casino, Sbobet Parlay

Now the show just has to get a 2-year renewal and I’ll really break out the dancing shoes.

And I’d start back to watching it. Been burnt by Fillion vehicles and find the love is hard to give.

Haven’t seen the show mentioned in a while, so I thought I’d bump things since I’ve been catching up and still enjoying the show. That Beckett & Castle have had love interests recently has provided some nice material with some slow-burn sublimmated pseudo-jealousy. Also, a couple of last minute reversals have made the mysteries slightly less predictable, but the highlight is still the chemistry between the two (thouigh I’m also enjoying the sweet relationship he has with his daughter, too), as well as Castle’s voracious appetite for weird arcana and pop culture junk info. Still a lot of fun.

It’s been renewed, so I’m happy. They are also giving some substantial storylines to the supporting cast, which is nice.

I don’t think his Mother is contributing much. It could survive just fine without her hanging around being snooty.
