The difference being I don’t have 30 something pittings doing it. Compare my time/posting history here to Dio’s and the number of pittings. Shit, I should have a handful by now if my math is right. Hell, I don’t even have ONE fricking pitting (I think). And if I did get a pitting it would most likely be about a position of mine (or crappy grammar/cites/tone/humor/sumptin else, which is fine by me when push comes to shove) The only thread I might be Dionizing is a pit bitching about Dio (the meta irony!). And you won’t likely see me doing something remotely similar elsewhere. You can’t and won’t be able to say the same about somebody else here.

I bowed out for a while, obviously. No need to keep typing. But tonight, for some reason, I decide to come in and see what I missed. I seemed to have missed a bunch. I am amazed. Even his psudo-pledge to try to turn things around didn’t last for half a page. Why? “Because **Dio **is who we thought he was!” (apologies to Dennis Green).
A half page or so of encouragement, applause, and stroking later, and **Dio **is back at it, this time being proven wrong in a biblical thread. But that’s not what caught my eye. It was the quick blurb about **Dio **insulting a guy who just lost his baby. **Dio’s **response in this thread was that the man’s wife wasn’t pregnant. A baby didn’t exist, therefore a pregnancy didn’t exist. About a page and a half later, sure enough… someone was kind enough to post a link to the thread in question. (apparently, before this occurred, a sock came in to post a link to the thread in question, but thank goodness for diligent moderating, by Miller, who not only removed the sock, but the post the sock made, which according to Cheshire Human, included a link to the thread in question.)
Post 409 has the correct link to the **Dio **post made 5 years ago, to a poster named SADDAD, who’s wife just suffered a miscarriage. **Dio’s **remark? man up. It’s not like you lost a child or anything… and the guy is coming off self-absorbed to Dio. (of course, I’m paraphrasing. Read the thread from the beginning to Dio’s statement at post 19 and maybe 10 more posts or so, until you get a link to his pitting. Then read the Pit thread.
A poster no less than **Bosca **called **Dio **a troll five years ago, (and an asshole if memory serves - if it doesn’t, just subscribe that one to me.)
The man’s wife was pregnant for 12 weeks. That’s 3 months. When my wife was pregnant 3 months, we most certainly considered her with child, and considered her pregnancy real, not fake. If she miscarried, I would have been devastated. I don’t know what point **Dio **was trying to make, if it wasn’t born yet, therefore it wasn’t a baby, or whatever. The fact of the matter is that the guy thought he was going to be a father again, and received the news of a miscarriage less than a week before posting his heart out in the OP. Read the OP… He was just venting, and I’m sure searching for some support, even if it was anonymous.
So what does **Dio **do? Flies in, plops a load of shit into the thread, and then waits for the inevitable howls of protests from the teeming millions.
**Dio **is without a doubt a troll, a disingenuous poster, and is here for two reasons only. He loves to get rises out of people, and he loves to derail threads. Any “value” people think he adds would not be missed if he went away. If there is any concern, read the biblical discussion… those of you that think **Dio **can’t be replaced will be happy to know that a number of well versed folks held their own in showing **Dio **he was wrong on a point.
**Dio **is lonely, insecure, and in my opinion has created an "outside life’ that is in his head only. Maybe he was married once. He may even have a child. But if this is true, I suspect **Dio’s **relationship with them is similar to Michael Douglas’ relationship to his “family” in the movie “Falling Down”. Is he intelligent? I don’t know. What I ***do ***know is he is anti-social, and only feels noticed if he posts something controversial that will charge up posters. I don’t know if he gets hard, but he does garner satisfaction out of watching everyone get in a twist. Even more pathetic are his defenders, who, for whatever reason feel that **Dio **gets an unfair break out here. I remember **Liberal **being a similar sort of poster. No one thought him unintelligent. Just crazy. At least **Liberal **admitted as much. **Liberal **had his supporters too, so I guess it’s inevitable. **Dio **posts all day every day, manically checking his inbox for threads he’s subscribed to, making sure he gets to each and every thread and offers a rebuttal, sometimes within minutes.
If anyone doubts what **Dio **really is, read the **SADDAD **thread. If **Dio **held the position he claimed, why on earth did he feel a need to enter that thread at all? Once entering the thread, he read the OP and decided, rather than just clicking out of the thread, he’s spend some time sharing with us what he believed. No one needed to know **Dio’s **opinion, it added no value, but upset a lot of people. What is that definition of trolling again? Or maybe that’s just threadshitting. In either case, it’s Dio! (giggity giggity)
Because of this 5 year old thread, my contempt for **Dio **has crossed a Rubicon of some kind. His behavior in that particular thread was so assholish that only once conclusion can be derived. **Dio **is an asshole. He’s also a troll, and a dickhead. I don’t think he’d be missed if he failed to post here again starting tomorrow.
But, as bad as **Dio’s **post in that thread pissed me off, it wasn’t the only thing to do so. Since I last read the thread, **Dio **admitted posting by proxy. Whether or not this is actually TRUE (since he receives so many PM’s for support :rolleyes:), he still admits to breaking a board rule. The moderators reaction?

That’s right. Implied. To be fair, it wasn’t too hard to figure out who I was referring to, but I had no idea that was a rule, a mod decided to slap an official warning on me, and that was that. So, Miller… please explain to me the difference as to why **Dio **did not receive an official warning. By his own admission, he broke a rule. He didn’t skirt it… he broke it. And whether he knew it was a rule or not, being ignorant of that fact shouldn’t preclude him from receiving a warning. I know I didn’t get a break. Why the different standard for Dio? Oh yeah, that’s right… there isn’t one. (I’d appreciate an answer here. I’m not interested in starting an ATMB thread, although someone else might want to.)
Then, **Dio **pulls the “I’ll try to be different” horseshit out of his ass, and what a surprise! A mod chimes in with:

If you don’t, she’s going to have to try to defend rulings regarding your behavior, which can’t be a fun part of her day. FTR, I feel some pity for Ellen Cherry and any other mod who would like to squash **Dio **like the bug that he is, but can’t for whatever reason they’ve been given.

FTR, I’ve never really noticed Dio until fairly recently (I’d say in the last year or so), but the above is proof positive that **Dio **has been a troll, a dickhead, an asshole, or whatever your favorite adjective is for quite a long time now. I imagine in those 55,555+ posts over the years are gems like this one, further solidifying who he is.

Dio, I don’t think you and I have ever really interacted on here, but I see your side of things, to an extent. IRL, I’m argumentative, sometimes crude, direct, and an asshole. Not saying that you’re that way, too, but you can come across that way (judging purely from the threads I’ve read).
I see where you said that you were gonna make an attempt. I applaud you for it, and, to be honest, that’s really all that anyone can ask.
