Celebrity Apprentice (spring 2012) [edited title]

I’m thrilled to see Arsenio finally put Aubrey in her place. I admire that he kept his cool until the boardroom. All this time nobody has called this lady on her selfish bull crap. Arsenio really shouldn’t have continued his tirade after the boardroom, but obviously this lady got under his skin in a huge way.

I agreed with Trump for a change. If you’re given a task like designing a box and screw it up. Don’t try to push the blame off on the Project Manager. Given the time they have for these projects the project manager doesn’t have the luxury of saying this stinks “do it again”. There’s no time for that. You have to use what the guy did.

So yes, I agreed with who went home.

Agree. Not a single glimpse of her in the preview, so I think she did. She’s been annoying all along, but she was utterly unbearable tonight.

The previews for next week are bizarre. Why is Lisa so pissed at Arsenio? I didn’t think she like Aubrey either. But, Lisa is sure ripping Arsenio for his temper in the previews.

Clay mentioned in Twitter there’s something we didn’t see that set Arsenio off in the boardroom. Check Clay’s blog on NBC tomorrow.

No, Lisa and Aubrey were best buds. They were pretty much running the women’s team and were the two ganging up on Dayana the most.

Aubrey definitely has a high opinion of herself. While I have been impressed with some of the things she’s done, I agree with Arsenio that she doesn’t do anything without it being “me, me, me.” And am I the only one that had never heard of her or Danity Kane before Celebrity Apprentice? I even looked up some of their “hits” to see if maybe I had heard the song but didn’t know the artist. Nope. Never heard any of em.

It is also interesting to see the change in dynamic now that Aubrey doesn’t have Lisa to back her up.

Yeah, and how infinitely more bitchy each of them seems without the other to blow off steam to.

I think it’s pretty clear now, that Lisa hates Dayana.

I think it’s also pretty clear, that her reason for hating Dayana is based mainly on physical appearance.

I really wish Dayana had defended herself in the boardroom by stating her opposition to Dee’s word-choices on the kit box, and how she saved Penn’s ass with her quick-thinking diversion tactics.

While I don’t think Dayana is necessarily a neuro-surgeon, I also see her as being far more mature and level-headed than the women who have repeatedly attacked her. I also don’t think she is a complete dolt. Somewhere in the middle, likely.

While I’m not sure Debbie was fairly dismissed based on task performance, I would have fired her on the spot for her disgusting boardroom attire. Absolutely gross.

Aubrey’s reasoning for bailing that she “can’t stand the hate” or whatever exactly she said, was absolutely ridiculous. She’s been on the attack every single week, but now that someone does it to her, it’s not okay? LOL I do hope that she comes back, though, just for the eye-candy.

I remember some other women walking out – a Jackson, maybe? – and Trump talked her into coming back. Of course, they made it seem that it was HER idea, that she wanted redemption or some such. And, of course, was eliminated almost immediately.

I think it was pretty clear the whole thing was about ending up with the right number of episodes.

(Trump absolutely hates quitters. Aubrey can come back or not, but she’s a goner soon.)

And now for my Unauthorized Analysis of Arsenio.

I haven’t watched much of this season. Skimmed it, mostly.

In all my views, I have found Aubrey to be annoying. However:

I hated Arsenio in this ep.

In the board room, it seemed that he thought his team may lose and he was pro-actively going after Aubrey. With the kind of teeth and claws one should save for after they know they have lost and are fighting for their lives. And that wasn’t so bad, but the fact is, he seemed unable to professionally articulate what his problems with her were, and that made him come off as petty and childish. Clay seemed to be able to express his opinion about Aubrey without coming across badly.

When it was revealed that he hadn’t lost at all, but had in fact, won, I believe he was overcome with shame and emotion because he exposed that weak, childish side in his disproportionate attack on Aubrey. The tears were a by product of that shame…not tears for the AIDS charity. I’m not buying that at all.

Back in the greenroom, after the boardroom, the shame swelled up in him again. He continued to breakdown and cry (again, over his cousin who died of AIDS; I don’t buy it). I would have believed his story a bit better if he hadn’t again turned his attention to agressively putting down Aubrey. I mean, at this point, really overkill…talking about googling her and finding fat naked pictures of her…Yuck. Shameful behavior on his part.

During the competition, while Aubrey was admittedly not very easy to work with, Arsenio seemed to be a bit silly in his run-ins with her. Harping on the picture, for instance. Who cares? Just smile for the camera and shut up.

So that is my unauthorized analysis of Arsenio last night. I don’t like him.

You might find Clay’s blog of interest. He thinks Aubrey’s shenanigans in the boardroom had set Arsenio off.

(Thanks for the heads up on that, aceplace57 – I hadn’t known he was blogging.)

FWIW, Penn has been talking about CA on his Sunday School Podcast.

Note: I’ve listened to the first couple episodes and kinda dislike it. He really needs to create a structure and format to that show as it’s a bit too long in the rambling department.

I can’t check the blog from work. I will check it out later, though.

Here’s a bit from Penn about the Blue Man Group.

I checked out the Clay blog on my phone. Nope. Still don’t like it. Arsenio’s response to Aubrey not saying he did a good job as PM was still silly and ill expressed.

I thought the flap about the blueman group was silly on Clay’s part. The group has a right to give or not to give. If they decide to give 2000 and waste 6000, that is their choice…accept the 2000 and call it a day. The blue man group have their own agenda to push.

I think part of the problem there, was with the ugliness of the scene.

Let’s face it, Clay is not a hairy animal-man; I thought he was perfectly justified in his disgust. “Hey, thanks for donating, Blue Man Group! Just let me finish stomping these money-grubbing vultures and ripping bills from other human beings’ hands before I pat you all on the back! Maybe someone will get injured and then your “art” will get even MORE exposure, making you all very wealthy for yourselves, in the spirit of charity!”

It was a stupid idea.

Dammit, real life intruded and I didn’t get to tape or watch. I just caught the last 5 mins of the final boardroom where Dee was fired, nothing that lead up to that, just Dee and Lou bickering and Trump deciding “the box” design was what was wrong, and Dayana really didn’t deserve to be in that boardroom.

Dalton Ross’s (very funny) summary of all three hours can be found at his Entertainment Weekly blog here.

Wow, different strokes. I thought that dress was the best part of the episode. Of the season, even.

Odd juxtaposition with your “gross” comment about Debbie.

I have to say, I really don’t understand Clay’s reaction to the Blue Man Group thing.

How can someone – anyone – be in show business and not get it? Why can’t they come in their street clothes? Because that’s not what The Blue Man Group does, ya idjit. The donation isn’t coming from “a normal person”, it’s coming from the performance group called The Blue Man Group. They, ya know, perform.
