Celebrity Apprentice (spring 2012) [edited title]

I’m not a fan of Lisa’s, but this week Dayana was so useless as to be obstructive. She deserved to be fired.

I would love to know what Dayana was thinking to herself in Spanish. She did mess up that task and deserved the firing this week, but her control of her temper was amazing.

I normally like Lisa but she was just waaaaay over the top this time. Impossible to work with.

I really thought Lisa screwed up with her tirade in front of Trump. She did a very convincing job of portraying herself as someone that’s impossible to work with. I’m amazed Trump didn’t fire her right there before announcing the winner. Would he really allow someone with those extreme anger issues to work for his company? I seriously doubt it.

That said, I don’t disagree with the firing. It’s been coming for quite awhile.

Am I the only one that thought the Good Sam mascot costume was incredibly lame and uninteresting? Especially when he was surrounded by all the dance cheerleaders and he’s standing there like a mannequin. He looked so tall and clumsy next to those dancers. I’ve seen a lot better mascot costumes used representing sports teams.

Had anyone actually heard of Good Sam? I hadn’t.

I hate Lisa.

Can I just say how impressed I was with Dayana’s exit? I think she knew her time was up, but unlike Lisa, she conducted herself with dignity and respect.

My head just exploded, after hearing Aubrey’s dig about Arsenio being a girl wearing cheerleading outfits and seeing her minutes earlier at GLSEN lying, er, pontificating about her concern about bullying and supporting the LGBT community.

Not feeling much sympathy with Team Clay-Dayana-Lisa. Clay should have been the PM, without question. Dayana is not a native English speaker, so I wouldn’t expect her to be a particularly skillful lyricist. And I’m not sure if Clay is right in saying that “the melody comes first.” Should they lose, at this time, I’d throw Clay under the bus in a minute for not taking the PM role.

Nice Lisa is still a bitch. Is it that much of an eye roll that someone who is not a native English speaker would not know that “jingle” does not reference “Jingle Bells.” Clay is being a passive aggressive dick as well. But he gets props for “the blind leading the seeing.” Ha!

I want to bitchslap Aubrey for her weekly backstabbing one-on-one with Don Jr. I hope he calls her ass out on that shit. I mean, who does that?

Dayana may have not given Lisa her fair due, but I didn’t exactly feel sorry for Lisa. How many times has she acted unprofessionally and like a dick toward her? Clay was pretty passive aggressive; he could have easily acknowledged her work without Lisa’s whiny “back me up Clay!”

Not sure what was so inadequate about Dayana’s apology. Lisa, even when she’s trying to be nice and a team player, is so emotionally brittle… she can dish it out but she can’t take it.

Okay, I want to punch Aubrey in the face. Arsenio’s not happy with her re-writing of the skit, but he rolls with it, really cool. I actually expected him to explode after he saw her rearrange everything, but he was really mellow… and the bitchitude comes out. Now he’s a five-year old boy throwing a tantrum. Hoo boy. I guess when Aubrey was being bullied she was taking notes, because she’s a conniving, backstabbing douche.

Forte could have done a much better job bringing Dayana into the fold. She could have done the intro, or shared some banter with Lisa. Clay and Lisa went mean girl and boxed her out. Anyway, I think they lost because the concept was completely safe and what one would expect.

I guess we’re gonna see the bloodbath, because Aubrey-Arsenio-Teresa crushed them. I think the cheerleader outfit critique was a red herring; it wasn’t even that close. It is good to know, though, that the one thing they didn’t like was Aubrey. And Arsenio shows come class by complimenting Aubrey, while Aubrey needs to change her name and identity to salvage her B-list career after this. There’s already a reigning Apprentice villainess, Omarosa, so even in that role Aubrey is a B-teamer.

In the battle of the boardroom, I think Dayana won on class. More of the same screeching and drama from Lisa. And… what the fuck?!? Shut up, Aubrey! Please fire her, Trump! Isn’t that the first rule of Apprentice - if the focus is not on you, shut the fuck up.

“How many languages do you speak, Lisa?”
“That’s not a measure of intelligence.”
LOGIC FAIL, LISA.

Is it me, or is Ivanka wearing Invisaligns?

This firing is kind of bullshit. Dayana isn’t really at fault - at least, I think an argument could be made that Clay should have stepped up and guided the task. Death by a thousand cuts for Dayana. She’s the first Miss Universe I’ll remember, for both her class and her beauty.

I just realized the good things about Dayana – her beauty, her self-control, her dignity, all that – are all perfectly on display in the boardroom while her failings in creativity and such don’t come into play there much.

I suppose that could explain somewhat why Trump seemed so fond of her and seemed to dismiss the opinons of her teammates (who had to deal with her elsewhere) as jealousy.

So, next week Teresa goes, then Lisa, then Arsenio.

The Donald should have fired both Dayana and Lisa if he had any balls. As project manager Dayana was doomed from the start if her team loses. It was lose-lose for her. She can sit back and let Clay and Lisa do all the work, and then get blamed for doing nothing. Or she can try to give direction (which she did poorly) and then get blamed for being incompetent. This season’s “celebrity” contestants have to be the worst group ever selected. All losers in my book. To think that I thought that Joan Rivers was terrible, but Lisa Lampanelli has certainly passed her on the loathsomeness scale. Why no one (especially Donald Jr.) called out Lisa for another profanity-laced tirade is beyond me. Oh, maybe it’s because they didn’t want a big Lisa breakdown in the boardroom. Cowards.

As they were walking out, I turned to my bf and said “Oh, they’re not going to be hugging goodbye”. He replied “Definitely”. Then they hugged. It really showed that Dayana was definitely the bigger person there.

I was surprised they hugged too. Especially Dayana and Lisa.

Also, it seems that as time goes by Aubrey keeps getting worse. This time throwing Arsenio under the bus to Don Jr. in the middle of the task. And then during the task talking about how she’s the only one with any talent.

I thought that the presentation put on by Arsenio’s team was pretty bad and I was sure that Dayana’s team was going to win, so I was shocked when it was the other way around.

And what did Aubrey have on her arm after I  ?

I agree with the Dayana firing although I thinks she’s great. Either lead or get out of the way and she did neither. That being said, Lisa won the battle and lost the war because the loss of control and personal vitriol she through out, she will never be the Celebrity Apprentice.

Right now, I am predicting (and looking forward to an Arsenio/Aubrey finale.
If they pick two to help them, who do they go with? Arsenio would pick Clay and Penn but who does Aubrey pick besides Lisa? A clone of herself?

Regarding next week’s preview:

Did they say that two people were going to be fired?

or am I misremembering through an Ambien induced fog?

Yeah two people. So I guess there are 3 episodes left.

Did anyone notice that Aubrey took no time in making her GLSEN visit about herself? “Hi kids. I was bullied every day when I was a kid. It was awful. I’m better now, thanks. But it really sucked to be bullied. I’ve been working really hard and I made this money for you!” ARGH she is awful!

Are you freaking kidding? Gonna be Clay and Aubrey, and if Clay doesn’t win I swear to god I really will boycott this show forevermore. (Unlike when Joan Rivers won and I swore I’d never watch it again. Here I am.)

This does leave the question of who Aubrey will pick – probably Theresa as being easily cowed and no competition.

Yes, that’s right – they usually go from five to three this way. The only question is, with three eps left, will they have a three-person final, with two weeks devoted to it, or another elimination in the penultimate week and then a big finale with two last competitors.

Re: Dayana – I’ve been impressed with her poise until now, but this week I was definitely seeing why she was driving people batshit. “Let me sit here with you and help you write lyrics”? Seriously? If that’s how she’s been acting all along, but it’s been downplayed in the edit, yeah, it’s clear why she was in the boardroom a record seven times. She shouldn’t’ve grabbed PM this week, and she should have allowed pros to do what pros do and helped with staging or costuming or something.

Gotta say though, her “Maybe we should call Debbie Gibson” crack had me rolling on the floor. That’s the point at which I began suspecting she truly is just fucking with these people.

Oh, Lisa…

Lisa was a bit disappointing this week. There were at least 4 moments when I said to my SO “she’s going to start crying now”, and she didn’t. I loooove it when Lisa “cries”, it’s so obviously fake and contrived, as to be comical to me.

Clay’s jingle was far more catchy, to me, than Aubrey’s. Clay was pretty comical, too, when he finally lost it with Dayana. And I can’t say as I blame him; Dayana was utterly annoying as PM. Poor girl, I really was hoping for them to win, just to see Arsenio and Aubrey go at it, but Dayana definitely deserved the axe. I mean, just how smart does one have to be, in order to understand that Clay Aiken might just be okay to work without the stamp of approval of the PM?

Aubrey continues to go all-guns-blazing with her disgustingly unprofessional self-promotion and egotistical horn-tootin’ to the boss. Arsenio was pretty damned patient, but also, I kind of agree with Aubrey’s remark that he needs to grow some balls. You have a problem with Aubrey trying to take control of tasks, so you question her ideas, and even have decent reasoning to articulate WHY you don’t care for her ideas, but you kind of need to have something of your own, there, bud. And when Aubrey just goes ahead and does what she wants, why just sit slump-shouldered on the bench and allow it to continue? Man up, Arsenio!

Teresa is cute, and so nice, rocking the Cleopatra-look in the boardroom yet again. I felt bad when Trump sort of slagged her a bit there.

Did anybody else find Donald Trump’s leering and drooling over Dayana’s beauty just a bit skeevy? I know he hated to get rid of her because of his Miss Universe franchise interests, but man, he just gave off such a creepy, dirty-old-man vibe, it made me shudder.

That’s what he always does, though. When he’s not telling black people he’s proud of them.

Trump is worse than Jerry Springer in so many ways.

We always laugh when he makes his excited noise at the heat rising in the boardroom.

Trump is pretty trashy.

Just went back and reread the first page of this thread, with preseason predictions – no one envisioned the final five looking like this.

Anyone not listening to Adam Carolla’s podcast is missing a lot of good CA dirt.

As of last week we learned that NBC did not want Dayana Mendoza cast on this season. She was only there because Trump insisted she be there. As Carolla said, he did everyting in his considerable power to have her on the show. Obviously he’s not going to make himself look bad to the NBC execs, so she stays deep in the game, at the expense of better players.
