Celebrity Apprentice (spring 2012) [edited title]

The minutes leading up to Trump’s reveal of the winning team in the board room were pure awesomeness.

The women are asked to comment on photos of the men’s windows and in a fit of girl-power, declare the men committed a faux-pas by casting three women answering to a bossman behind a desk.

The men counter beautifully by declaring Clay to be subservient to the women in that scene. This paints the women as jumping to a sexist conclusion. Dayana actually pouts like a petulant child in response.

The men are asked to comment on the photos and they say it’s confusing (which is true) and that “Ivanka” is a brunette in one and a redhead in another.

The women respond that the woman is symbolic of Ivanka… and are stopped in their tracks when Mr. 110% points to the photo of Dayana in the fan breeze and declares (with the room-silencing impact of Ralph Wiggum’s “my cat’s breath smells like cat food”):

“When I look at this picture, it makes me want to go on a picnic!”

Lou’s non sequitur immediately stuns the room like a flashbang grenade. It takes everyone several moments to recover, but when they do, everyone immediately start talking over each other, the previous point now long forgotten.

The sharp-eared may have noticed one of the women (Aubrey?) saying “When I look at your picture, it makes me want to vomit”, which elicits a grumpy glare from Mr. Ferrigno.

That was the most suspenseless boardroom ever.

The power of editing: Imagine if they used the exact same footage of Michael Andretti and just changed the background music - maybe some whistling or the music from a scene in an old western when they show the open empty plains - he’d look like the laziest contestant ever.

Dayana = Dayumn. That’s all I have to say about that.

I second the question.

All I heard was Trump ask Penn if Teller is a good magician/work-partner? Penn said he’s the best(which is quite true, by the way).

At one point I saw Lou’s jaw muscle pop when his mouth was open. How do you even do that?

Adam Corolla keeps me amused. On Mohr Stories podcast, Jaymores opined that he is the uncontested master of “Throw out any topic, and I’ll complain hilariously about it for ten minutes.” Game respects game.

I think it’s 26.4 hours.

110%.

Even his 110% gives 110%.

God, I hate when Trump tries to create unnecessary drama. He was asking the women, who would you bring back IF you lost. So basically what he is trying to do is create unrest EVEN if they won. It’s bullshit, IMO.

Totally agree. And I give Dayana a lot of credit for listening to what I said last week in post 111 and refusing to name anyone.

I loved Trump’s totally empty threat, “You know you have to answer.” And her, “Or what?”

Yeah, Donald, or what? You gonna fire her for insubordination? I think even the all powerful Donald realized that he had nowhere to go from there, so he just let it drop.

Well I am sad and glad George got fired. Sad because I like him and I’m going to miss him staring at Lou’s body with that silly smile but glad because it vindicates what Senior, motorcycle guy, said in the first episode.

In the first episode Senior was PM and Trump asked him about the two people he would bring back and he mentioned George and then Trump asked him why and Senior said George didn’t have an agressive personality type and said a word to describe George, I don’t remember the exact word but something like wimpy was said and Trump tried to turn it into drama making Senior seem like he only picked George because he was gay and then Senior had to do some back tracking and apologise to George.

It felt like Trump was suggesting Senior is a bigot for using that word and I felt that was unjustified and that Senior should not have apologised but just explanied what he meant. That George was not an aggressive person and it showed, or at least edited to show, during last nights episode that George was not good at being the leader.

Overall I liked the episode except for Lisa practically crying in front of Trump. If your nickname is “The Queen of Mean” you have given up your right to cry in public.

Also I think Adam really stepped up on this episode and showed he would do whatever it takes to get the job done.

The word was meek and yes, at the time Trump acted like Sr. used some kind of a racial slur. George was less assertive, more submissive than the other players. The description fit.

Lou’s twitch reminds me very much of Jose Canseco’s, which I believe was confirmed to be caused by roids. I’m sure Lou’s is the same.

Yes it is, and it’s exactly what he does every week. It’s what he did with Penn, and caused all the drama from Lou Ferrigno. It’s what he did with Senior that caused the comment about George being “meek”, and Adam’s line that Senior picked two people and picked three minorities.

Yes, Trump’s a dick.

Debbie Gibson was on Adam Carolla’s podcast. I was really surprised how much I liked her.

Celebrity Apprentice has been giving her the stupid/useless edit this season. She’s nothing like that in real life.

Adam has sure stuck his neck out. He’s 90% responsible for that presentation. The guys let Trump know they thought it wasn’t serious enough. I liked it and I thought they got some facts out. That bit with Paul getting dragged out by Lou was lame.

Debbie Gbson’s team presentation was confusing. I thought it didn’t have any focus. Well, the ladies are starting to throw Debbie under the bus. this should get bloody.

I am just watching it now. The “cool van”? And the one girl who I’ve never heard of bragging she is always in the “cool van”? I taught junior high and thought I was done with this, but for some people they never get out of seventh grade.

I’m surprised at those results. I thought the men’s presentation was better. It had humor – but so did the women’s.

What??? he’s firing two people. oh crap; Especially bad since its apparent the guys didn’t fail. Their presentation was good.

Next week they need to make Lou project manager. He wants responsibility, then give it to him. See what Mr Twitch can do.

I think Trump served up notice to Tia, too. “Are you deliberately staying in the background?” She starts waffling, he cuts her off with an almost contemptuous air.

She’d better step up.

I see Trump’s point. The challenge was tailor made for Andretti to lead. He should have managed the project and used show biz people like Adam and Clay as the presenters.

Andretti said he wasn’t a salesman. Well, he didn’t have to be the guy selling the car. What Trump expected was leadership from Andretti and that’s what he failed to deliver.

I knew Andretti was getting the axe in the first two minutes. Trump hates people who don’t step up.
