Everyday at the office I get the mail wrapped in a big rubber band, which I throw into the bottom of my supply holder on my desk. I use maybe a rubber band a month.

I should make a hammock in my spare time.

I made a rubber band ball about 10cm in diameter. I keep thinking I should get some of that liquid vinyl and make a proper ball out of it.

Staplers. Staplers and string – that’s my bag, man. I used to have a job where stuff came tied with string. I saved up all of the string and eventually created a ball as big as a ten-pin bowling ball. Recently, I sacrificed some of the string for reasons I don’t care to reveal, so the ball is now only about the size of a really huge grapefruit.

And I just can’t say enough about the Apsco 16. I don’t know where it came from (because we’re really a Boston 50 company), and I don’t know where it went, but I’ll never forget it. I feel the same way about certain hand planes. A well-made tool is a well-made tool, dammit – even a lowly fastener!

Actually, she was the 1223rd person to select it. But #429 gave it up, and everyone moved up a spot. I’m sure she has a thread somewhere in here explaning that whole process.
