We had friends in FL who used to live in the boonies - the kind of area where people dumped their dogs. At one point, they had 5 of these foundlings, plus a cat.
After the moved to a more developed area, as their pack died off, they stayed with just 1 dog.
Moooooooom, like you, the only thing falling around here are the leaves, not the temps.
sari, I’m glad that Ripple is getting along with Echo. Your son will come around, and if he doesn’t, he will have a degree soon enough and can get his own, pet-free place.
I walked the new boss through the reports that I send to her that she has to approve for distribution to operations today. Fortunately, it wasn’t my first rodeo and I had the answers she needed.
Like sari and metal mouse, I prefer a vehicle that sets me up higher than a car. Unfortunately, true compact pickups are no longer available new and crossovers, pickups and SUVs are out of my price range. I would buy another S10 or a Ranger or Tacoma at their previous size. Most mid and full sized trucks are too high for me to get into without a running board or a pole to vault myself in.
New donut cone came today and is just the ticket. He can eat and drink wearing it and see and move around. He’s still not exactly happy about it but a little less pitiful.
Tahred. Hubby’s friend is back to take him back for a follow up Doc appointment to Miami tomorrow and they went out to eat and are bringing me back something. I requested fish and chips but we shall see what I wind up with.
I survived my meetin’. We broke up around nine and I was so ready to leave I made a beeline for the door. I am old and like bein’ in da cave when it gets dark.
How did you say “fish and chips” and they heard “hamburger and fries”?
I am definitely not hitting on enough mental cylinders. Failed a call score HARD, by screwing up authenticating the caller. I am not upset with our QA agent. She’s fair, and I really did make the mistake in question, so she didn’t have a choice. I’m very disgusted and disappointed with myself for such a newbie mistake after over 2 years in the job.
I hear sleep is a really nice thing. Maybe I should try it a bit more. Chugging Mt. Dew isn’t making it. Massive “zillion plates to keep spinning” stress isn’t helping.
peeled potatoes and well it was ick as the potatoes just bought were spoiling and already attracted the bugs who left wiggling descendants all over them … but being a descendant of stalwart farmers i tossed out the infested and really rotten ones and merely washed off the rest…but again ick
house is a mess as all the Halloween stuff is in the house … just here and there and everywhere …
Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 65 Amurrkin out and clear (well, dark) with a predicted high of 95 and mostly N.O.S. for the day. Today chaos ensues. The floor people will be here around nine-thirty so I am told. Thus it shall begin. When it’s all over all the stuff that got moved out gets to be moved back. Maybe by this time next week da cave will be all put together again. Well, at least until more chaos is decided upon.
Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, onward into the chaos!
**swampy **- what flooring are you having replaced? Either I missed when you told us or you’re being secretive about that little-used room with the trap door…
**FCD **had a jittery night, which I know because some time around 1AM, he punched my pillow. But I got him to face away from me and I eventually fell back to sleep.
But I’m in the office and all is right with the world. Happy Tuesday!
I love the rest of my household, but about the only one I really like right now is the bird. At least SHE didn’t decide to create so much disturbance I wound up being rousted out of bed an hour early! Between the cat and DH…
I got a call around eight o’clock. The floor folks were just gettin’ on their way. From three hours away. :dubious: To quote Julian of Norwich: “And all shall be well, and all shall be well, all manner of things shall be well.” That is my mantra for this week.
Morning all. Odd start to the morning, as I was just about to climb out of bed around 7:15am, I clearly heard someone say ‘Hello’. Since I live alone this disconcerted me slightly. Nobody in the house and no service people around, so I guess my brain had a short and produced it from memory.
Watering the backyard as I type, can only do half the yard at a time, then will wash both clothes (sort of a ‘leftover’ load of misc) and myself. Washed my jeans yesterday, so after this I should be good until the end of October on the laundry front. Temperature is supposed to be under 90F (well, only 88F) today.
swampy, good luck with the flooring; looking at new carpet myself in the Spring.
Nettie, FCM, sounds like Hubbies need to sleep on the couch for a couple of nights…
shady, flyboy, doggio, don’t feel the need to ‘one-uurrrppppp’ one another…it’s breakfast time here.
