See above right. Sigh.
(In other news, my pm box is full, my computer isn’t working, and my e-mail on my ancient iPhone is clogged. If you’ve tried to communicate with me recently, carrier pigeon is probably more reliable.)
Watch for smoke signals. I’m sending you ‘warm’ thoughts:)
Thanks!
It’s never a good sign when your province or state is mentioned on BBC International’s world weather report.
Hm. Maybe if we send you some of our heat in the Southeast US and you send some of your cold here, we can average out at a nice tolerable temp …
No kidding. Yesterday it was 90-something here with 90-something percent humidity. That’s July weather! It’s the end of September dammit, where’s my cool crisp fall weather?
We’ll probably break the record here for most 90+ days in a year on Thursday. That’s Oct. 5th. After almost week of 90 degree highs. 20 in the month. No high lower than 83. Most Augusts aren’t this warm.
Chin up! The snow will be gone by afternoon. Probably. Here, at least, though I think you got more. And oh lookie there’s more in the forecast. Okay, then, chin up! The snow will be gone by tomorrow afternoon. Probably.
Got up this mornin, feet hit the floor.
A very cold floor.
Checked radiators. Very cold.
Looked out window. Not snowing. Yet.
Checked boiler. Pilot light on — yay!
Pressure gauge — 10 lbs instead of 40. Not yay.
Waiting for the boiler guy. And waiting. And waiting.
Starting to feel like the Little Match Girl.
I’m out of town right now (someplace warmer), but I just checked the news from home. Holy Hannah; our little city was shut down by the snowfall!
Meanwhile here in southern Ontario it’s going to be 28°C tomorrow, the first of October – that’s over 82 degrees 'Murrikan!
97°F, South Arkansas. We’re in a record heat wave.
On the off chance it makes you feel better it’s 19C here (66F) and it’s a bit chilly out so I have a jumper on.
I just hope that my water pipes didn’t freeze!
It will barely hit 20 (= 68) here in Montreal. Accompanied by rain. Still I just read that parts of Montana had 40" (= 100 cm) two days ago.
I got home late last night. There is a two-foot-deep drift of snow on the back deck. My car is buried. The pipes didn’t freeze, but the thermostat told me that the temp inside the house was 6C. Thankfully, the furnace came on without a problem, and the place warmed up nicely.
Later, I’ll have to go out and dig out the car, and try to attack some of the stuff on the front steps and walk. It was sunny and warmer today, and the snow will be wet and heavy. Environment Canada shows increasing temps and sunshine as the week goes on, so hopefully, the snow will melt soon.
It was 100F here today. Maybe if we all set up some really strong fans pointing north …
