Changing the world...one MMP at a time!

I’m just south of Ketchum, Idaho. Right next to Sun Valley. And it’s so gorgeous here! Aside from all of last year’s dead grass that was under the snow, which is (really!) mostly gone now. There’s still a good bit around, but there was tons more a couple of months ago.

yawn I’m seriously considering taking a nap. I didn’t sleep well last night at all. I went out today to get a few things I needed to get before the Big Day tomorrow. I should probably take some of the lightweight stuff down there myself, but that takes more energy than I have at the moment.

Have I mentioned that I HATE moving? As much as I’m going to enjoy being in my own little place?

My boss has offered to send her husband over with a truck Sunday if I need to, to get the sofa my roommate is selling me. My boss is awesome. I don’t think I’ll need the help, but it’s good to know it’d be possible.

The comforter is in the dryer, the mattress cover, pillow covers, and pillow slipcases are in the wash, and I’ve taken my shower.

I cannot find our freakin’ wetsuits. They MUST be in the front of the boat, which means I’ll have to take the bowcover off and lift all the seats.

It is really pretty outside today. I’m not quite sure how warm it is, because I haven’t been outside, but it sure looks nice.

Hubby took my rig to work today, so that puts the kibosh on my going to the grocery store, at least until he gets home. I do not like driving his truck.

Oh! Congrats on the job Nava!

It seemed like I came in here to say something else, but I guess it’s completely slipped my mind.

Ta for now.

I’m home, I’m caught up, and I’m about to go out and mow the ditch. Then it’s off to order FCD’s tux. Back later. Try not to miss me too much! |

MWAH!!!

I trust we shall see pics of MOOOOOOOM and FCD all gussied up in their weddin’ finery? :dubious:

I came back inside cause I need to purtify. I’ve been notified that I’m bein’ taken to dindin at the good Eyetalian place. Since I will not be driving that means I can have me one or two of their “Eyetalian Margaritas”. I have no ideas what makes 'em Eyetalian other than they are served in an Eyetalian restaurant. They are nummy though. Margarita you say? Why not I say!

ETA: I just remembered what makes Eyetalian Margaritas Eyetalian. They put amaretto in 'em.

Congrats on the gig, Nava! Looks like you’ll be racking up an awful lot of frequent flyer points bouncing back and forth like that, but I can think of worse places to be splitting my time between (like… maybe my downtown and suburban offices… yeah, those)

I snuck home early today. There really wasn’t much for me to do today, and with the weather being the way it is, I figured I’d be just as productive “working” from home than I would be moping around the office. So nyah. I’m stickin’ it to the man!

I’m on my own tonight (The Boy is meeting up with friends after work), which means I’ll have to scare up some din din for one… debating between ducking out into the cold wet to get some takeout, being lazy and ordering some Chinese delivery, or rummaging through the fridge to find leftovers that are still the colour and texture they should be. Then I’m going to put on some comfy PJs so I can park myself in front of the TV and watch the crappiest shows I can find on cable TV. Yay!

… aaaaaaaand the ditch is mowed. I am so productive! Go me!

**swampy ** - The newlyweds plan to upload their pics to a website, I believe, but I won’t subject anyone to that. I’ll copy a select few to my photobucket account and share them.

OK, now I’ve actually gone back and read some…

{{{Pie}}} - how is Grandpa doing today?

{{{Muppet}}}, {{{Spaz}}} – I know what you mean about those days where you just want to crawl back into bed… :frowning: At least the day is almost over, even on your side of the pond!

**Nava **-- I am officially jealous! I love Scotland!! Maybe I should make plans to visit while you’re there

Hi guys!

I’ve mostly just skimmed - but did I miss a pic of Snowbunny’s new cabin? I can’t find it. Congrats, BTW!

I love the pics of spring peeking up through the ground, Kai. I’m happy for you. Spring is almost transitioning to summer down here, although this week oughta be awesome. Highs in the 70’s, lows in the 50’s - and low humidity. It will be almost May after that, and here come the high humidity, high temperature days.

I don’t feel so good today, my belly hurts. But I started dinner. This is an awesome brisket:

Rebo’s Brisket

1 small brisket (2-4 lbs), trimmed of fat
kosher salt
cracked black pepper
1/4 c flour for dredging
1 tbs garlic powder
1 tbs olive oil
1/2 bag baby carrots
4 med red potatoes, quartered
4 shallots or 1 onion, cut into wedges
8 cloves of whole peeled garlic
1 tsp dried or 1 tbs chopped fresh rosemary
1-1/2 c red wine
2 c beef stock

Salt and pepper the brisket. Mix the flour and garlic powder, and dredge both sides of brisket.

Heat the oil in a dutch oven over medium-high heat. Brown on both sides (about 3-4 minutes per side,) then add all the veggies around it. Sprinkle in the rosemary, and add a bit more salt and pepper to the veggies. Pour in the wine and beef broth. Bring to a boil, cover and lower heat to a simmer. Simmer for 3-4 hours.

DoRe, here you go. Ain’t that cute?

snowbunny, we’re almost neighbors–well, our states are contiguous and that has to count for something!

Taters, it’s beautiful out there, the local temp gauge says 65 F and it’s fullblown spring. I just got back from hauling 780 lbs of miscellaneous flurb and crap to the dump and I feel FABULOUS! There’s something so satisfying about getting rid of all that shite that accumulates during winter, especially throwing it around in fits of mindless destruction at the dump. I have a Papa Smurfy’s stuffed chicken bacon garlic pizza in the fridge waiting for us to get hungry and the grandkid is back home so it’s Firday afternoon for the grownups, yay!

Day slightly improved. I got done with works early today (I decided to skip the break between Reference and Archivin’ because I wanted to LEAVE). I saw Movie Night Host at the pub as I was walking my car so I went over to chat. He offered to get me a drink, so I had a nice lime margarita to take the edge of the day. Ah, alcohol. The cause of, and solution to, all of life’s problems.

I have to report that the Pepperoni Cheese Bread is the The Yum. MMMMM…Hubby even loves it. It said that I will be making it again.

Hugs to Muppet and Spaz. Yay on the new job, Nava; hope it’s fun.

I loved the pic, rosie (I thought that yesterday, but forgot to type it).

I’m tired, thinking about what else to eat for dinner (I’ve had a green chile & cheese tamal). Maybe some veggies?

I know I had more to say, but it escapes me, of course.

I’ll come back later when I remember…

GT

I just noticed the pic looking at the cabin makes my car look huge. My car is a Saturn SL2. I love my car, but my car is not huge.

I’m mad at my new landlady. I lay down to take a nap this afternoon, because I haven’t gotten anything like enough sleep the last couple of nights, and I was just drifting off when my damn phone rings, and it was her. Turns out what she was calling about was a mistake on the part of somebody else entirely, nothing important. But of course I couldn’t get back to sleep.

Instead, I cleaned the bathroom.

WTF? Sometimes I hate being grown up and all, when cleaning the bathroom seems like a reasonable thing to do. It wasn’t bad in there, but I am moving out, so it seems only fair to leave my areas in reasonably clean shape.

Tux has been ordered. Shoes have been returned. I tried on a cute pair of silver slingbacks, but they squooshed my toes, and they were $60 - sorry, I’m not paying that much for shoes I may only wear once.

We let Famous Dave make supper. I had the brisket - it was yum. Now I’m in robe-mode. I am comfy and relaxing and digesting brisket.

TGIF!!

Evenin’ Y’all! I’s full! So’s ol’ y’all know who. We ordered the lasagna for two which is really enough for four but we ate it all cause waste not want not. URP! I had only one Eyetalian margarita cause it was a stiff one. 'Twas nummy though.

Ok, off to surf around some.

What’s an Eyetalian (Italian?) margarita?

About all I can hazard a guess with is that it’s made with Limoncello? Scary…

Also scary is our dinner plans. Invisible Tenant said he was going to cook dinner tonight as he usually works half-days on Fridays, and DH and I don’t get home until nearly 6:30. This is the same guy that often sits down with a mixing bowl full of cereal for an after-work, pre-dinner snack, so I don’t know what’s in store for us. I think we’ve got the Olive Garden as a back-up plan. :stuck_out_tongue:

I am have returned from the mall where I purchased a new bathing suit. I did not much enjoy the process. Although I have lost serious poundage, I still feel rather unattractive in a bathing suit. I found one and it’ll have to do.

I also purchased some shorts, a nightie, a blouse and some swim trunks for Mr. Taters. All of that cost me 20 bucks out of pocket because I had a gift card and mall gift certificate. Otherwise, I would have spent around $130.00 bucks. I did good!

I guess I should do something productive now.

Well, pooh. I found a pair of shoes on line that I liked - nice low heel, not too fussy, not too expensive. On backorder. Pooh. Looks like I’ll have to do the shoe store thing. ick

When I was surfing shoes, I was aghast to see how much some simple sandals cost. $400 for a couple of straps and a sole?!?!? Please!!!

Have I ever mentioned how much I dislike shoe shopping? Stoopit footwear.

I just ordered Subversive Cross-Stitch from Amazon - I want to give my friend something with “Babies Suck” stitched across it, for the daughter they’re expecting in August. Teehee.

Been a very lazy day. I did clean out my closet though. Go me.
