Chillin' in the MMP

Oh gosh, I totally agree with you. While I am the first to admit that we might go a little overboard caring for our pets, I tend to think that basic care includes little things like food, water and interaction with their humans. Argh.

The dogs might be moving to Alaska. Or they might be moving next door. I’m the reason the next door dogs have shelter and a water bowl that Animal Control can see from the street. We don’t get along very well with those neighbors.

The nextdoors also aren’t very smart, they post their phone numbers on Nextdoor (I’m a lead so I read everything) and get surprised when I text or call them to complain about the dogs cause how did I possibly get their numbers. The husband brings his clearly marked work truck home to do not work things and wonders how I know where he works and which department.

Yes i am a bitch, why do you ask?

Start taking notes and updating your resume now. If you wait until the announcement, you will forget some of the important stuff you know. I’m hoping you will land on your feet posthaste.

I’m really glad we aren’t having a cute vote because Lola AND Nelson are both very, very cutie patooties.

Animal Control had already been over there. This is a pretty rural area, as long as they can tell the dogs have a bit of shade and water bowl, they won’t do much about barking complaints. Until one records at least 10 minutes of uninterpreted barking which even the barkiest dogs don’t do. They have stop and take a breath once in a while. That’s why I’m so glad the neighbors are dumber than GG. Calling AC doesn’t do nearly as much as calling someone’s work place to complain about the dogs barking for hours on end. Bosses tend to get annoyed by such things.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN ‘Tis < snerk > 69! < snerk > Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 87 and cloudy with a chance of rain mid-afternoon. We shall see. Today is procure provisions day and I want to get mowage accomplished before the alleged rain because tomorrow is supposed to be stormy and da yahd is lookin’ shabby. We might be in danger of bein’ the worst lookin’ yahd in the 'hood. We just can’t have that, now can we! This is also the last Wednesday Sonny’s has it’s bbq poke sammich special, so we shall either sup or N,O.L. there,

Now I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then I suppose I must make myself presentable and go amongst the great unwashed. Such a bother!

Happy Hump Day Y’all!

I was still awake at 2AM, but I did finally get maybe 3 hours of sleep. Tonight I sleep with Mel, but for now, I’ve got a babby to sit upon. Well, an hour from now anyway.

I’m #182 in the queue for the Credit Union - last night, I was 14,437. So I might actually get to check my account shortly… And I finally got access - man, I really don’t like the new setup, but it’s not fully functional yet. I want to pay my VISA but internal transfers are not yet functional. Maybe tomorrow. Heck, I can’t even see my VISA account - just the current balance, but it’s about what I expected, so there’s that.

And theoretically, I’ll get my car back this afternoon. We’ll see how that goes. Cloudy day ahead, but no rain forecast, and we might actually see some sun tomorrow afternoon - today will remain overcast.

Could my post be any more boring? Um, lessee, I clipped my toenails this morning after my shower.

Happy Wednesday!!

Morning, mumpers! I still have 17 minutes of morning left, and a bunch of things I don’t want to look at in my inboxes, after a morning of back-to-back meetings. It’s also 13c/56f outside, cloudy and there’s been rain. Weather app says “The clouds are all nuts to butts up in the sky” and I agree.

I did not sleep well, had some weird dreams, one of the cats barfed on the bed at 2.30am, and although we cleared that up straight away, I know 'im indoors will not think to change the bedding and throw it in the wash so I’ll need to do that when I get home.

Fortunately it’s pub night tonight so I’ll be out with friends rather than being all cranky with him. He doesn’t come out with us any longer as one of the friends voted for Brexit so he’s now persona non grata. I just deal with it, and don’t talk politics with him.

Ho hum.

Monday was a difficult start
Coworker 1: Dad had heart attack on Sunday, Monday was possible surgery (went home this morning with two new stents - immediate problem is better, but more surgery to come)
Coworker 2: Mom fell in her apartment. Doctor says she can no longer live on her home. (Mom’s not happy, but doesn’t have much choice)
Coworker 3: Dad still has COVID and other ongoing health issues, which may mean he has to go home (slightly better, but there’s a limit to what can be improved)
Me: Hubby’s digestive issues were worse again (slightly better, but takes time)

And then I saw Facebook. Ooof.

Later still, so you’ll have to celebrate even longer hippie. Hope it was a good one.

Amen.

New word for me. Hope the bruise heals fast.

I like all the mundane chatter. Also helps to remind me what day it is, or to take out the cardboard, start laundry, or plan grocery shopping. I am still working from home a lot, and even when I’m in the office, my work is mostly content analysis, so not a lot of chatting going on even there.

Plus I enjoy the pictures of the confused kitty and am looking forward to pictures of new additions to the extended pet family. (Is that a strong enough hint?)

Wonder how old mine is. It has a nick on the screen, so it’s mildly annoying to use, but I’d rather not replace it, if I don’t have to.

I missed the chance to get a print of the patch for my wall. Next time I see a chance, I’m buying it. I do have a 1984 stuffed Opus on my desk at home, which I received in 1984. Not taking him to the office at work - hate to have something happen to him.

I just sing “C&H, pure cane sugar, from Hawaii” then “mumble, mumble”. Hubby’s from the east coast and gives me a strange look whenever he hears me.

Okay, I’ve read everything.

It’s already afternoon, and lunch was leftover meatloaf with steamed carrots and onions. Yum!

One meeting done and another to come, and lots of discussions in between. I think I’m supposed to be productive, at some point.

Tomorrow’s a Catholic holiday, and Friday is an official bridge day, so I get to enjoy a N.O.S. 4 day weekend, with mild temperatures. Not bad for May.

Still under a fire warning, because we didn’t get any rain in March, so everything’s still parched. So I’ll have to water the plants.

Enough catching up, gotta get back to work.

Happy Hump day!

Mornin folks!

Been up and caffeinating about an hour now at 7am. Sitting outside on my patio in the 80F lushness watching the sun work its way upwards from behind the distant clouds. Soon the blinding bright light will chase me inside to the misery of over-air conditioning in the name of both domestic bliss and mildew prevention. Such is life in a tropical used-to-be-swamp.

Happily slept a full 8 hours courtesy of Nyquil. Yaay!

Need to do groceries today, but may dispatch dear spouse for that project. With luck I’m gaining a bit on this cold so Dayquil will leave me mostly functional, not just less a bit sick like yesterday. We shall see.

Bo-oo-ooring!!

FCM, your night sounds like mine night before last. I must have forgotten to take one of my meds, and tried to go to bed at 9 pm. My neuropathy in my feet was driving me crazy, so I got up at 10 pm and took more Gabapentin. Watched TV, played Candy Crush, read my book - I just wasn’t sleepy until about 1:30 am. Then the alarm went off at 4:45. I was draggin ass, I tell ya. Last night I went to bed at 8:30 pm, and got up at 2:00 am. 5-1/2 hours of uninterrupted sleep!

Thunderstorms rolled in about 3:00 am, and we had a blip of a power outage. Just enough to reboot the cable box. It is now a blissfully cool 65°F/ 18.3°C. The low humidity is supposed to hang out until the weekend.

Now I’m at actual brick and mortar work, and it’s vewy vewy quiet… Later, gang.

ETA: I’ve got a muscle twitch in my right thumb! So annoying.

Well, I actually had a common night’s sleep–in bed about 11pm, bladder alert at 6am and then up at 7am. Paper retrieved and pills taken and some breakfast will be coming along in a bit. Outside of some mail and getting my gym routine re-started (promise), not much else on the agenda. Rain, rain, and then more rain tomorrow, which will help keep the temperature down but outdoor stuff will be limited. Last day of school here, so I suspect traffic around noontime will be dense. I’ll deal.

Dicey, that’s a bad run for any office, hope that all the issues get resolved happily.

FCM, my only problem with my Credit Union is that if I don’t log in once a month (I only have my savings account there so don;t check it often) they make me jump through hoops to re-establish my account. One of these days they are going to catch me on the wrong day and I’ll find another establishment…

Jane the Cane, you are a good neighbor; which also means you can be a PITA at times (that’s a compliment, by the way). I really feel for those dogs, the next set of neighbors might not be so caring as you.

Oopsie, glad you’re making a foray back into group activities. Presume everyone at the meeting will be vaccinated. And I think Bailey will forgive you.

OK, need to prepare some sustenance and be about the day. All y’all take care.

Leaving for vacation tomorrow so today is packing day. The suitcase is in the living room, lots of stuff is upstairs so I will be upping and downing a lot.

This may be TMI. I bought new underpants yesterday. I bought a size up, but after washing they are at least 2 inches smaller than my not new unders. Fortunately I have enough for the trip, but dang. Can’t return them either since I washed them.

No such thing as TMI in the MMP!

I hate that you can’t try on underwear to make sure the cut and style and size are right! Not that I want to try on any that have been tried on by someone else. Ick.

I bought a new brand of undies a while back and they’re a bit too snug for my liking. But two of the three-pack (one ripped) are still in the rotation. Why? I don’t know. I’m really not that cheap. Maybe I just don’t want to admit that I made a bad purchase.

Howdy all. Housework is happening today and cooking. Gotta get on it.

Irritated as I am by this debacle, we’ve belonged to this CU since 1983 - it’s the first time they’ve let us down in all that time. But I suspect the entire Board will be replaced pretty quickly, and the CEO may be on his way out, too.

The kid won’t nap. He snoozed for just over half an hour earlier, and now he refuses to reprise it. He’s gonna be a terror for his mama tonight.

Still no call from the body shop, so I don’t know if I get my car back today or not. And so I wait…

Awaiting deliveries from the Jungle and FedYecchs. I do feel sorry for the drivers in this weather.

I am officially old. I received my Medicare number and my Social Security check will be deposited the 4th Wednesday of the month. It’s cloudy and hoomid with rain showers, possibly stroms tonight.

LSL Yay for not-ruptured ear drums. I approve of your spouse’s ideas of AC. :stuck_out_tongue:

WetOne have fun on your trip. Maybe the new unders will stretch?

Well, you’re sitting on him. How do you expect him to sleep?

Beamer does not have COVID - according to the home test at least - so off he went to school. He actually wants to go to school. It’s almost out for the summer and he doesn’t want to miss the last few days. I guess they plan fun things for the end of the year?

Hubby is concerned he may lose his job. The company just cut some people, and he’s worried that he might be next. I’d like to state that he’s always worried about this but we’re revising our budget to cover this scenario. It makes us both feel better. The CEO knows and likes him. He’s been at the company for over 10 years and has several patents. I suspect that they will find another role for him if it comes down to it.

Happy Wednesday everyone!

I had to visit our local leech, left at 9 and it was already 93F. The AC guy was here when I got home and the house is already under 83. I am so happy he had the needed part, what with the supply chain issues and all, I was expecting to not have AC for a couple more weeks.

Hurray! Back in the dark ages, the last week of school was all goof off, get year book signed and promise to be BFF with everyone again next year. I can’t imagine it is much different now.

The AC just stopped running, the house is at the proper temp for hubs to protect the world and I’m probably going to get some laundry started. I’d usually wait until after dark to start but stuff has gotten piled up in the last week.

I was going to prepare my version of chicken cordon bleu (thighs instead of breasts, ham instead of prosciutto, and Swiss cheese instead of Gruyere), but the thighs were not the right shape. So I coated the pounded thighs in flour, salt, pepper, and paprika and am frying them.

I found my PFD, so I won’t have to buy a new one. I found my original kayak seat, and am trying to wash it. I have a brand-new seat, but the attachments aren’t the same. I’ll give it a try. Otherwise, I still have my old seat.

Happy Hump Day!

It was a chilly 56-degree morning, I wore my coat to drop off the dogs. Now it’s 70 degrees outside.
I’m trying to get stuff done but … it’s one of those days. Every phone call has an issue, and I have so many to make.
One hospital bill didn’t process my last payment, so I never got a bill and the person I talked with said I owe more than I do. I say no, I owe this amount, and then they say oh yes, we have your payment and it went through, but we never processed it. I said why should I make payments if you aren’t going to process them?
Another one won’t take my payment, because the insurance company said they paid part of the bill, but they say they never received any money. I get nasty letters from them every month, but they won’t take a payment as long as there is a dispute.
I think I need to hire a secretary,
and a cook, and a driver, and a gardener, and a house cleaner.
My old doctor called me to make an appointment, and called in my scripts to the pharmacy, even though they didn’t call me back last month when I still had insurance and I told them I was going on Medicare. This doctor doesn’t accept Medicare. When they never called back, I figured they didn’t want to see me anymore.
I was going to call a new doctor today, but now I am holding off to see what the previous doctor wants to do.
Unemployment is still messed up. OAOADO owes me money and I haven’t asked for it because his long-time roommate died and now, he has to pay all the rent himself. Like that should be MY problem. He always rents houses he can’t afford on his own and then gets friends to move in with him. HIs best friend from childhood died a few years ago, now another friend from childhood died. He is USCWOAP.
Years ago, he wanted us to rent a house together and it didn’t happen, because I will NOT put my name on a lease unless I can afford all the rent by myself. I’d rather live in a shack and be able to cover the bills myself, than live in a mini-mansion and have to depend on other people to help me.

He always said he’d be better off with me, because I am financially responsible, but he always chooses his loser friends and family first.

First World irritations, but still irritations.
And laundry, I’m still doing laundry in between the calls.
