Chores you Abhor – an MMP about household responsibilities

Home, and I have to say that today’s tit-squishing was the least painful ever! Apparently when they use a digital imager, they don’t have to squish as much. YAY!!

y’all seen this cute video yet?

I’ve had some kind of sinus-drainage-sore-throat-thing going on all day and it’s getting annoying. I’m going to see if massive amounts of hot tea do anything.

Ick Spaz! Hope you get better soon.

Soup and grilled cheese sammiches are one of nature’s perfect meals. Just sayin’…

I got a call from YP a little while ago. He asked if I planned on comin’ to Evening Prayer from my house. I was affirmative on that so he asked if I’d stop at the liquor sto’ owned by two church members and pick up some wine they have waitin’. They regularly donate wine to the church for Holy Communion. So, I get to pick up port wine on my way to church. I mean, how many times does one get a call from one’s minister askin’ one to pick up the wine on the way to church, right?

Ok, that’s all I got.

Poke chops, twice-baked N.O.T. and sugar snap peas - yummy supper. Dishwasher is running and I’m chilling. I’ll assume the knit position after I read all my funnies and Dear Abby.

Is it Firday yet?

Dinner tonight wasn’t yummy. I want FCM’s dinner. I’m in one of my periodic ‘Nothing I make tastes great’ moods. What I want to be eating is frites and steak and restaurant-type food. What I’m making doesn’t seem as appetizing.

Mr. Lissar’s at the dojo and I just put the kids to bed. I should be hemming a pair of pants or cleaning the kitchen. I will definitely do it. Very soon.

No Mumpers on the Valentine list yet? :dubious:

Cute video, rosie. Hope you stayed off the ice today. I like the DIAN PIAV motto, by the way. Made me giggle.

Hope the sinuses quiet down soon, Spaz.

Glad you made it to your pot luck, taxi. Sounded like you really needed it.

Good vibes headed out to all the sickies.

I’m tired today; was at work longer than I wanted to be and didn’t get nearly as much done as I wanted to. So, yeah, I’m also hoping for Firday…very soon.

There was more, but I forget what…

Hugs.

… I want BBQ… and we have to come in on Saturday (get paid for a morning of hopefully sitting on our ass like it was a full day of working, too)…

Methinks Saturday’s plans will involve driving to Plaza de Armas after work, for lunch at the American-themed restaurant there and a movie.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN Another day of irk looms that includes yet again a mornin’ at East Albeeeny Medical Center. Oh well, it pays and that’s what counts.

I went to Evening Prayer (Feast of The Confession of Saint Peter) last night then came home and laid on the bed and watched teevee for a bit. Nice way to spend a Wednesday evenin’.

Tuna sallit sammiches and possibly fries for dindin cause that’s what I’m in the mood for and since I’m the cook I get to decide.

Ok, I need more caffiene and rumbly tummy demands to be fed. Then work purtification must commence. Woohoo.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

Good morning all and Happy Thursday! Caffeination is in progress, fortunately, and it’s above freezing outside. All in all, not too shabby.

Hope everyone has a good day, and sending healing thoughts out to those in need.

This morning there was an email to this location’s distribution list stating that, since there were some 50 people in “gastrointestinal distress” yesterday, samples of food from the last few days have been sent for analysis. I wrote back (not to the whole list!) thanking them for this, in my name and that of my fellow sufferers.

I just had a call with the 2/3 of my team who are based at a different location to review some documents; I knew the call was essentially over when one of them asked “by the way, did any of you have the ‘do not ask meat in beige sauce’?” They didn’t know about the investigation already launched, but they evidently had heard the reports about the likely culprit. I’m in Home Office, the amount of cause-effect analysts in my building alone (and we have six buildings in this site) is larger than the faculty at most engineering schools. I have a suspicion that the “do not ask meat in beige sauce” is well on its way to becoming a company legend and in-joke, one of those things which are mentioned by old-timers in an off-handed way, until the newcomer finally cracks up and says “ok, what is this ‘do not ask meat’ everybody keeps talking about?”

(People refer to it by its actual name, of course, making it even more confusing. Imagine getting to a new job at a hi-tech firm and hearing lots of in-jokes about chicken)

VWife is wearing down my resistance to leasing the house in the shady neighborhood. :grrrrrr:

This is the last of 3 weeks of paid layoff. The time off has sucked massively. So has the list of shit to do to get ready to move. Today is dump day, where I start throwing out crap I don wanna take.

Up, caffeinated, off to irk. Hockey tonight.

Howdy y’all! Guess where da bear is?

BBBobbio ain’t movin’ house fun! Look at it as a golden opportunity to toss stuff. Also continued good luck on the house hunt.

Nava at church I sometimes make what I call “don’t ask and I won’t tell ya what’s in 'em baked beans.” They’re not known to be leathal however. At least not yet. Of course there’s also the world reknowned “St. Patrick’s Episcopal Church It’s Irish Because We Say So Stew.” What? It has meat, N.O.T. and assorted root veggies in it. That’s all anybody needs to know. It’s gonna be sad makin’ it this year for our St. Patrick’s celebration because it’s the combined masterpiece of Ron, my friend who died in November, and me. I will no doubt have some of the [del]Guiness Stout[/del] secret ingredient in memory of him.

In other news, I am boooooooooooooored!

I be cold. Very cold. Currently -36C/-33F and -48C/-52F with the windchill.

I’d go for chili from the corner cafe for lunch, but it’s too damn cold to walk. If the windchill wasn’t there it’d be okay though.

My cast is off!!!

I still have a boot to wear! :frowning:

But I can take it off to drive and shower and stuff!

But it’s bigger than the one I had with the walking cast! :frowning:

But I’m free to get around by myself now, and I can go to the bank, and the library and the store and the saloon and out anywhere else I want!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D

Late to the party but great OP!!! How many other guys said folding laundry? If anything happens to Her Ladyship everything I own is going to hangers. I will wash, when absolutely needed I will iron. But I ain’t folding and that’s just the way it is.

So, if I were to batter and deep fry cauliflower, should I put actual batter on it or just dip it in flour and pepper and salt?

Up and feeling much better today. Work is kinda meh but The Pioneer Woman’s Chicken Tortilla Soup last night was delish!

Other than that I got nuttin.

Sorry your bored swampy

LiLi I would use batter…

Okay. I will prep cauliflower. We’ll have homemade fries, deep fried cauliflower, and hot dogs for dinner, because it’s my damn kitchen. So there.
