Oh, you know, there’s me and the Bilderberg Group, the 5 surviving shooters from 11/22/63, the Symbionese Liberation Army, Saul Alinsky…just the usual.
doorhinge, did Christie reveal himself to be a vindictive asshole and bully with that episode, or didn’t he?
Hint:Yes, he did. That’s why he’s now reduced to calling Trump “Sir”.
Jerry Jones! There’s Trump’s ideal running mate!
Then you agree that the GW Bridge was not closed.
Wasn’t that done to prevent all those thousands of muslims cheering the 9/11 attacks from stampeding across it?
Did DNC/MSNBC tell you that?
Except for people in Fort Lee.
Have you realized yet that it’s over?
Well, that was a disappointing attempt at a riposte. Please exert a little more effort next time.
Ahem. You, ElvisL1ves, were the one who brought it up. Have you realized yet that it’s over?
“Riposte”? I asked a question. It’s amazing how little effort is required to clarify an issue. Much less than that required by jumping to a conclusion. ![]()
They shut down lanes on the bridge. Now some indictments should be expected to come down. OK? Now move along to the next exit. You got GPS?
No, the scallywags at PANYNJ (Port Authority New York and New Jersey) did not shut down lanes on the bridge, but you obviously have no way of knowing that.
OTOH, I have GPS units that actually work.
You said “The GW Bridge was never closed.” Are you now backing away from your statement? Sure looks like it.
Even Christie knows it, and he knows why, too. But you don’t.
I said more than that. (*He did? Yes, he did.) *Maybe you prefer taking statements out of context? Your choice. You could pick a longer time frame if you prefer. ElvisL1ves and I were discussing the PANYNJ entrance lane closures in September 2013. The GW Bridge was never closed during that time. Did you wish to expand the discussion to include the entire life span of the GW Bridge?

It was only a few years ago, back around Sandy, when there were Serious-Minded People thinking the only way for the GOP to win the WH was to nominate … him.

The “scallywags” did not shut down lanes on the bridge, true.
I remember both my kids first day of school (ever), and what a big deal it was, neighbors, friends and relatives with video cameras. These “scallywags” ruined a milestone day in many families lives by their scheme, not to mention commuters trying to get to their jobs and businesses. Little kids excited and nervous, forced to sit in traffic for hours for political retribution is heinous.
Legal expenses in excess of $13 million, let alone how much it cost business for those four days.
Christie is a ridiculous figure, appropriately exhibited in the Trump hostage situation. If he knew of the scheme, he’s beyond contempt, and if he didn’t know what his Deputy Chief of Staff was up to, it just shows his utter incompetence. NJ citizens have spoken…

Yes, the GW Bridge was not closed.
It obvious that the scallywags at PANYNJ (Port Authority New York and New Jersey) were responsible for ruining your family’s milestone day. And the Ft Lee mayor was too incompetent to get the situation corrected. Was he re-elected?
The LSM and DNC chose to distort the facts during the multiple investigations of what came to be known as Bridgegate. To date, neither the LSM or the DNC have been able to provide any proof that Christie was involved in the PANYNJ operation.
That doesn’t stop some members of the Democrat collective from incorrectly claiming that Christie closed the GW Bridge.
Please expand on this. What did the mayor fail to do? Does he have some direct authority over the port authority or the running of the bridge that I haven’t read about?
Well, he refused to be bullied into endorsing Christie for Governor. So there’s at least one thing he could’ve done to prevent the closing.
There are plenty of other threads where I’ve shared my views on Bridgegate and on the Mayor of Ft Lee. I’m sure your search feature works as well as mine.
The PANYNJ reassigned the lanes on the entrance ramp. The PANYNJ corrected the issue five days later. The GW Bridge was never closed. I expect a mayor, as the duly elected representative of the people, to see that the problem is fixed ASAP. Five days for a simple lane reassignment??? To move traffic cones back to where they were??? I expect mayors to call everybody and their brother in order to identify the problem and call in every favor owed them in order to correct the problem. Luckily, for the people using the Ft Lee entrance, someone at PANYNJ knew what they were doing.
