Thank you!
I’m sorry about your Aunt Mary doggio. Hugs.
Happy birthday unknown!

I likely have at least two more moves in me. After the last one, I know that a moving company will be involved.
We had several meetings about the Kronos ransomware attack at irk today. They had to quickly put together a time tracking system for the interim. Now, I have to submit my PTO for the holidays in this system (it was approved and I have those emails). Those @$$holes should burn along with the scammers like the one who got Mooooooom’s FIL’s SSN.
Stay safe and healthy y’all!
They went to their bank and got some good info and reassurance. MIL has a number to call to freeze their credit reports - she’ll do that first thing in the morning. I think FIL is really embarrassed about the whole situation.
My mom fell for a windows scam thing, but she realized what had happened and contacted her bank, and didn’t lose any money. Now she’s super suspicious. So much so that when her tablet popped up something about up updating software, but it wasn’t nefarious. On the other hand, she wanted me to remove all the apps from her tablet that she doesn’t use because she didn’t want them using up power… I had to talk her down from that one.
Chillage ensues.
Heaved. the had breakfast for us after heaving. It was cold by the time I was done, but hey, free scrambled eggs.
I see you, and raise you: bra money in summer ![]()
HAPPY BIRTHDAY unknown!!!
This! and (((hugs)))) on the ankle.
((((hugs))))
Moooommmmm!, I’ve moved twice in the last 24 years. that was enough. Or at least Imma gonna pay people to move my stuff next time.
Thank you very kindly, good sir!
All of the cats got birthday catnip (It’s my birthday, if that’s how I want to celebrate I will!)
Today at the surplus produce pick-up I got in line behind someone driving a stinky diesel truck. Happily, the driver was the sort to creep up as close as he could because that might make the line move faster, so he moved out of smelling distance after a while.
It was 33F and the clipboard ladies weren’t wearing gloves because they needed to be able to write. I used to work in a government building in Arizona-which meant death by air conditioning year round. I bought a bunch of finger-less gloves which haven’t been used since I retired. I went home and got a mess of gloves and handed them out to grateful sounding ladies. I was happy, I did a good deed and cleaned out a drawer.
We got some eggs and milk, a couple of pre-made turkey cobb salads which hubs likes, some chunky salsa and a mess of other stuff we won’t use (chocolate pop-tarts anyone?) so I delivered our leftovers and my friend’s box to Prescott Valley where there was ice and snow on the ground.
I asked hubs what he remembered about the BCC massacre and he said he thought it was bad hot dogs so that’s two people who remember food poisoning. While we were having lunch, I asked my friend if she remembered it, she’s 20 years younger than me, and she said she did, some guy went crazy with a chain saw and killed hundreds of people, blood all over, cops and ambulance crews puking and passing out from the sight. She would have been in middle school when whatever happened and that is just the sort of story that got spread around when I was that age.
Hurray for the boy and repairs! Damn about the ankle, I was hoping it was just twisted badly.
We are not moving again. We hate moving and are too old to start over somewhere else. When we bought this place, we had a walk-in bath tub installed and a ramp built. We’ve done a lot of other smaller things to help accommodate us in our later years.
I always wanted a Victorian until I worked near the historic district in old town Prescott where I watched the constant upkeep and saw a few of the steep staircases and cramped bathrooms folks lived with. I have settled with stitching a house to hang on my wall, LOL!
((((shoe))) Thank you for checking in, we really do care.
Well, dang, after all that effort to pick it up, you are going to have to go through the bother to send it back.
Bastards indeed. I hope that asshole didn’t get all the necessary information, they can be pretty pushy.
I missed that your company had been hit by ransomware. That sucks. I hope it’s not too painful getting out of it.
My condolences on your loss. {{{doggio}}}
Hades Annex used Kronos as of when I irked there. SO glad they’re not my problem.
I have broken both of my ankles. Twice. Each. Only once did they swell quickly. The other three times, they waited to swell. I wish
you the very best!
I parsed this as a current update, and was briefly both confused and very worried.
Thank you all for the kind words and private check-ins.
I have a Monkey on my lap, have sorted a (very few) of my problems, and … I dunno, am doing slightly better?
I like absorbing other terminology.
You British: I have borrowed “sorted” for myself. We don’t have a good term for that in American, and it’s so useful.
Dinner is sorted.
Tomorrow’s plans are sorted.
Likewise, all of two years in Michigan have taught me “ope.” What a wonderful word. It encapsulates so much.
“Bitch, you are in my way, but I’m too polite to say all this, so imma just say ‘ope’ and then imma slide past.”
… all in one elegant syllable.
That’s enough out of me. The wind is still ridiculously windy, so let’s see if “Lucifer” can provide a reasonable distraction.
this is around the time we start making 100s of cookies that no one really wants anymore and I’m not supposed to eat according to some
past few years its been the mo for aunt to give most of em to grandson and his college friends… but the mood here is bleak this year so who knows what’s gonna really get made …
Oh and yes we’ve mostly survived the great flood a few things in boxes on the patio might not of tho
and no ones replaced the glass door window yet . so its slightly cold
but the usual hoorays boos and condolences that one posts here when doesn’t read for days …
Howdy Y’all! We did all the things, procured provisions for this week, next week, and the Christmas feast, achieved nappage, cooked and et sup, and cleanded up the kitchen afterward. I’m exhausted. That’s way too much work for a grumpy old man retired drain on society.
doggio so sorry for the loss of your aunt.
red appropriate/inappropriate appendages crossed this does not mess up your time off irk.
MOOOOOOM scammers deserve pointy stick wieldin’ Sri Lankan ninja spiders for eternity.
shoe glad things are better. Most of the time 'tis to take small steps IMO.
nuts that sucks about the coat. Hope you don’t have a lot of trouble returnin’ it and gettin’ another one.
Butters hope the ankle is not broken and yay for sonny boy and all his hard work and for the girl cookin’ for ya!
Hello fellow Lucifan!
I think I’ve missed some things. There was a flood at your house? The door is broken? I’m so sorry. It sounds horrid.
Day 1 of lying flat is almost complete. I can’t figure out how to drink a beer while I’m doing this though. ![]()
I arranged for Carvana to buy my Expedition. We’re not using it and selling it now gets me more money than I paid for it. The car market is crazy right now.
lol no i was being a tad sarcastic about the rain here…
Phew!
OUCH!!! I probably shouldn’t say this out loud, but I have never broken a bone. Until tomorrow, I’m sure.
I’m also hoping that butters feels better soon ![]()
I like sorted. I also like bint. As a west coast girl, I was thrilled when I learned “bless her heart”. I’ve never heard ope used before but I’ll bet I’d embrace it if I had!
OK, that sucks. I tried to drink beer out of a straw once and was very unimpressed. Oh, I know, get one of those spout thingies they use in bars, then you can put it in a bottle of beer so you can aim at your mouth without taking a bath. (beer is very good for your hair btw)
Especially the moistened kind. ![]()
The Emotional Support Honey Badgers would like to team up on this as well.
Evening all. If you remember awhile ago, I mentioned that one of my youth soccer players threw a rock over a fence and broke the windshield of a car in a storage lot. Owner finally contacted me and said I didn’t have to replace the windshield (I offered), but he did want the hole covered so any winter weather wouldn’t get in the car. So I went out tonight and bought a car cover (biggest they had–this is an old 80’s Olds monster-size car) and I’ll go down to the storage place tomorrow and put it on. So I have done (or will) a good thing.
Scammers are the lowest of the low, FCM. They seldom get farther than their opening statement before I hang up. Hope things work out OK for them.
doggio, condolences for your aunt’s passing.
Butters, hope the ankle heals quickly for you, with everything going on, it a bad break both literally and figuratively.
I hope you were cussing with each other and not at each other… ![]()
Ok, it’s late, I’m tired and I’ve taken the garbage and recyclables out to the curb, so bedtime is nigh. All y’all take care.
The only thing I retained is difficulties drinking beer. I thought that was why they have funnels. Actually, probably not a good idea, but there’s some who think it’s fun.
Hugs for those who need them.
Tuesday the gardener did the winter pruning. Wednesday we got the dryer back (which died many weeks ago) and today is the last run to the grocery store before Sunday’s flight. The only other tasks we have to do is work, get tested, and pack. Sheets are in the wash, and towels will go in tomorrow, plus other clothing.
Oh. And we got to make our booster appointments for January 5th. While we could get boosted in the U.S., getting it on our Swiss certificates probably won’t work well. So we’ll wait.
Terrible night sleep. The chaos of my home is getting to me. All closets are emptied and stuff is just in piles and heaps everywhere. Painting should ensue today. I will a get brief respite going to the Dr. and back which will take several hours due to commute. I have bagged up three gigantic contractor bags for donation. All really nice stuff. I also have bagged up lots of stuff for the garbage man. At least should my house not sell I’ll have it nice and minimized for me to enjoy. But it will sell, no doubt.
The guy that runs my A/C company called in a favor and got my expired permit closed but I still have an illegal bathroom in the downstairs office and I think I’ll go ahead and tear it out while sonny is still here to do it. Will see what the agent says once she comes to see the progress tomorrow.
I am now looking at newly constructed homes as this will be my last move I hope. Cannot go through this again. They sold a TV and I let them keep the money. $50 that I would have just donated. I have never had a yard sale and not going to now.
I am awake early to deal with more piles of clothes so the painting can happen. And going to hobble out to take Buddy on his walk. Ankle feels better so far today but it always feels better after a night of not walking on it.
Sorry about the scammers Moommm. To specifically target old ppl who are so trusting is indeed Sri Lankan pointie stick territory in their own special corner of hell. What happened to working for a living?
Off to hobble and organize some more.
