So we’re leaving church on Christmas Eve. The policeman directing traffic is always the Easter Bunny at Easter, and Santa at Christmas. I wish I had stopped for a moment, but watch on the left as a little girl bolts from her mom to jump in Santa’s arms and give him a hug. I hate that the camera didn’t catch just a moment or two more; Santa hugged her, put her down and took a knee, obviously chatting very seriously for a moment, then she went to Mom, turned and waved, and continued on.
