My gift is packed and ready to be shipped as soon as the post office opens. Very sorry if it arrives after Christmas.
I’m a little worried about my package. It was supposed to be there two-day priority, yet my giftee has yet to post that they’ve received it. I hope it’s not lost.

Mine is going out this evening. Luckily, my local post office is open until 7.

My package FINALLY went in the mail today. It went Priority, so it should make it there before Christmas.
And I received a package from hocow! I only opened it far enough to slip out the card so I could see who it was from. (Adorable kitteh card!) I’m saving the rest to open on Christmas.

I am sad to report that my gift will be late in getting out. Hoping that my recipient can forgive me; it’s being made and is taking longer than I had expected it would.
There has not been any gift received on my end either, if that makes any difference! I do promise my giftee will indeed get a nice, hand-crafted item, although it will probably not reach them until after Christmas. 
Shame on me. I received mine last Saturday. Thank you Sir T Cups!
I have an awesome Big Ten Football Encyclopedia. Even though I live in SEC Country, I’m a Big XII fan (Go Sooners!)
The truth is, I’m a closet Michigan fan, and outed Ohio State Hater! My wife is already tired of me asking her trivia questions from the book. 
I have no reasonable excuse for not having sent my package, other than sloth (and the fact that it is impossible to find anywhere that sells mailing boxes/cartons on this island). I have improvised some packaging and will be mailing it off today, but it has a long way to go, so it will likely only reach its recipient in the new year. Sorry - I hope it will be worth the wait!

Got the package five minutes ago, and ripped it open four minutes ago.
Contents: awesome plush stocking in my favorite colors (purple and green – how the heck did you find a purple-and-green Christmas stocking?). Contents: A book from my Amazon wishlist (The Windward Road, a classic book in natural history about sea turtles); a really neat embellished card with a little snowman… damn keep digging … plus a couple of squares of very dark Ghirardelli chocolate (yumyumyumyumyum) and a little magnet from her home town. (Am I allowed to say what that is? Or should I just mention that I taught at a large university near there – she’ll know which one – in '83-'84?)

Update - package sent today by air express, so apparently it should arrive middle of next week!
Mine arrived today and because I’m basically a little kid, I just couldn’t wait to open that big ol’ box!
Thank you, Reepicheep, for the lovely vanilla potpourri!! I so needed another vase for flowers and it’s just the perfect size. And the inclusion of the Christmas lights, not to mention the pretty doily, makes it a beautiful gift. Plus, how’d you know I have a secret soft spot for the color pink? Oh, and the card too was delightful. I’ll have to remember next year to request something from the sender’s local, because that was too cool.

twickster, I’m so glad you liked it! When I saw the stocking I knew it was meant for you. I was going to put your name on it with purple glitter paint, but my husband convinced me that might be overkill.
A funny thing about that flip-flop magnet: my boss recently took a trip to Australia and New Zealand and brought us all back magnets. Some of them looked just like the one I sent you, except they said Australia rather than Panama City Beach, FL (did you teach at FSU?).

Yes, I was at FSU for a year right after grad school, back in my previous incarnation as an academic. Frankly, I prefer the Panhandle to the rest of the state.
