Christmas Gift Exchange 2009

My Secret Santa gift is going to arrive late, due to D’s being busy with me during my recent hospitalization.

She’s almost got it ready (handcafted), but it needs a few more finishing touches.

I hate this because this has always been a favorite of mine and I (to my knowledge) have never been late with a gift.

So if you haven’t receieved anything, please don’t be upset! It is coming, and hopefully BEFORE the end of the year!.

Again, I apologize!

Quasi

I think your hospitalization counts as an acceptable excuse, Quasi! Mine isn’t going to arrive in time either, and I don’t even have an excuse!

freckafree, it did arrive in time, it did!! I’m so sorry I didn’t post yesterday when it got here, but I am suffering from a miserable cold and I was worried I wouldn’t sound grateful enough.

I feel so very lucky to have been your giftee two years running! I’m sorry you had the same wish list to go by both years, but you did an amazing job of getting me just what I wanted both times with no repeats. This year I received some wonderful-smelling lilac body butter (seriously YUM), a lovely green jewelry bag, gorgeous silver earrings with blue and green accents, a HUGE bag of chocolate, and some real Ohio maple syrup. You really made my day!! Thank you so very much!

I hope you’re all having a wonderful Christmas day.

YAY! I’m glad it squeaked in under the Christmas wire. And I hope you’re feeling better! Being sick on Christmas sucks.

I hope you are accustomed to eating teeny-weeny pancakes, because that’s about all that ridiculously teeny-weeny jug of maple syrup can handle! I couldn’t resist it, though.

hocow, I just opened my gift! Thank you so much! My son and husband are fighting over the coal candy. But guess what? They’re not going to get any. (Oh, all right! I’ll share.)

The little ceramic Christmas kittehs are the cutest EVAR! They look handpainted. Did you make them,** hocow**?

I’m very happy that you like your gifts! I am not very crafty (unfortunately), they were bought at a local farmer’s market. The coal candy is a nod to my hometown, as I live in the heart of the coal region.

Enjoy the rest of your holidays!

Where??? I grew up in WV!

faithfool I’m so glad you like it. May it keep your room scented with the lights peeking through, then I hope you have lots of great flowers for the vase. I’m just so very glad it got there by Christmas.

Pennsylvania coal region. Sorry, should have been more specific

Kolga thank you very much! The earrings arrived today in the mail, and they are lovely - thank you also for the small purple bag.

I plan to wear the earrings to work tonight

First off, thanks to CT_Damsel for something monetary we did not expect. I grinned like a Cheshire cat (sp?)

And rocking chair , thank YOU for our TASTYKAKES!!!

The butterscotch ones are right next to me, so D has to ask for one!

OMG, I almost ate the ornament, they were so good!

To my Secret Santa recepient: Please, PLEASE, PLEASE don’t give up on me/us!

I may be crazy, but I ALWAYS come through, I PROMISE, okay???

I honestly do not know what I’d do without y’all!

Thank you and me and D wish you Happy Holidays, ALWAYS!

Bill

i’m glad y’all are enjoying the number one philly treat. have a merry christmas and a great new year!

You TOTALLY ROCK!

(a play on words, huh?)

But the TASTYKAKES are gone now, AND they were to die for, rocking chair!

THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

Bill and D

My mom just texted me to say that my package arrived. Since I’m only expecting a gift from Santa, I’m assuming that it has arrived!

I’ll try to get there tomorrow so I can open it.

I got it today when I went to my mom’s house.

Thanks! South Bend Chocolates. Chocolate is always good but those are particularly yummy.

I’m getting concerned about mine. It was going a long way but it shouldn’t have taken this long. I hope it’s not lost.

Oh, I’m so glad you like them! You said you weren’t crafty but liked crafty things - those are hand-painted from a Sioux craftsman, on hand-carved bone.

You also said that you liked things unique to the gifter’s hometown, and I picked those up at the Denver March Pow-Wow this year, thinking that they would make a great gift for someone, but I hadn’t found anyone yet until your post

(I haven’t received anything in the exchange yet, but I’m hopeful)

Thank you for telling me that, they looked like bone but I wasn’t sure. I am wearing them now – to see in the new year here at work.

Bump.

Could anyone who has received their gift but not posted please do so. I think my gift should reach my recipient this week at the latest!

I think I mailed it on the 17th, and they said about 10 business days. (Damn airmail!)

Let’s hope it arrives by the end of the week.

I received my gift today from the Kingdom of Bahrain! I was a little apprehensive about getting a package with Arabic written all over it, but was more than compensated by my friends’ being impressed that I got a package from a kingdom!

I got an environmentally friendly Bahrain fridge magnet, a Bahrain keychain, and a piggy bank in the shape of an Arab with mirrored sunglasses and bling!

Thanks, Dottygumdrop! Watch your mail for a thank-you note! Before today, I knew very little about the Kingdom of Bahrain, now I am inspired to learn more.
