Since I’m not working right now, I might as well make myself useful by coordinating this.
Our traditional price limit is $10 (excluding postage). With the economy in the shape it’s in, it seems like a good idea to keep to this limit. Stay away from NSFOIFOF (not safe for opening in front of family) gifts, otherwise anything goes.
There are two steps to signing up: posting in this thread and emailing me.
When you post in the thread, give your Santa a few hints – things you like, favorite colors, things you’re allergic to, etc.
Send your sign-up email to sdmbss08 at gmail dot com. Please put your username in the subject line. (This makes things infinitely easier for me.) In the body of the email, include your user name, your real name, and your shipping address. If you are willing to ship internationally, please say so in your email.
I’ll keep a running list of participants in this thread. It’s up to you to make sure that you’re on that list.
When you send your gift, PLEASE wrap carefully to avoid disappointment on the part of the excited recipient. Also include a note with your username so he or she knows who Santa is!
Please post when you ship your gift and when you receive your gift – even if you’re not going to open it till 12/25.
If you sign up and later find you cannot send anything, please let me know; this will (hopefully) reduce the chances of someone being disappointed.

I like books and CDs – my wishlist at Amazon is in my real name (used is fine for both books and CDs). I’m also a knitter now, for all you yarn-obsessed types out there. My favorite color is green, my totem animal is the flamingo, I don’t drink much coffee or tea but have been known to eat some chocolate from time to time. My T-shirt size is XL.
My favorite color is red. I’d love to get something peculiar to the sender’s area. I don’t drink coffee, and please, no mugs - I just recently thinned my mug herd.
As always, the top request is for dragons. Also nice are little toys (like slinky, Magic 8 Ball, Rubik’s Cube), cat-related things, Reese’s Peanut Butter Trees, and good chocolate. Oh, and my favorite color is purple.
I am a total jewelry slut – the funkier, the better. I have pierced ears. I also collect itty-bitty kitties (i.e., small cat figurines). Fave color: purples and anything that goes with it – teal, turquoise, bronze, etc.
I like chocolate, coffee, anything girly, silver jewelry, the colors green and blue, anything local to you, games, crafty stuff, homemade stuff, books of short horror stories (used is fine), any old thing you want to send, etc.
Gonna try to veer (at least slightly!) away from my usual thing this year, I think. My favorite color is blue and I do love chocolate, but now I’m a crocheter so yarn is a good thing. Another good idea would be a classic cookbook, like Joy of Cooking or Better Homes & Gardens - as long as it’s under the limit (paperback copy would be fine). Or something local, special to your area.

I’m in! I like pink and purple. I have pierced ears. I love to read. Horses are my favorite animal. I like chocolate and coffee (no mugs needed though). I like the idea of a locally-made item as well. Oh - and I LOVE fun and funky hats/scarves/gloves.
Email sent, so I’m in and pretty excited, since I haven’t done this in a couple of years.
Anyway, things I like: I’m a pretty new cook, so I’d LOVE cookbooks (even if they’re used, or actually, that’s probably better). Also, anything Alice Cooper-related (but I already have all his CDs, so you can scratch that), 70s / hippie stuff, homemade bracelets, monkies and butterflies, the color green and white chocolate to name just a few things. Oh, and I don’t do coffee at all.
Other than that though, I’d pretty much like anything. I’m not picky and am usually happy with whatever I get. So, thanks for doing this twickster and happy SSing everyone!

Okay, as my family has opted for Secret Santa for gifts this year, what I’ve budgeted for gifts is way higher than what I’m going to spend. So, $10 for someone I’ve never met? Sounds like fun to me! I like finding gifts.

Random quilting fabric, perhaps? I can find uses for a yard of quilting fabric. Big fan of color.
Oooh- I really need to read something new. I’ve exhausted my collection of books, my roommates collection of books and many more besides, and have not found a next good read. I like fantasy/sci-fi, though Im really not a fan of pages upon pages of combat. I like a lot of the Orson Scott Card I’ve read, though Ive read a lot of him, and I’m looking to branch out. Love Chris Moore, but again, looking to expand. The last book I read that I truly loved was Jonathan Strange and Mr. Norell. I also like longer books- I tend to read really fast and get sad and disappointed when I finish books long before I’m through exploring the world.
Something random, handmade, or odd…anything, really. Something fun, and even though I went on at length about a book, it would be fun to get something truly random too.
