Chrome vs. IE - mouse over question

At Nate Silver’s NY Times blog, placing the cursor over a state on the United States map on the right side results in a pop-up appearing, but only on IE. I think it used to work on Chrome, but it doesn’t anymore. On a related note, at Salon.com they usually have a “Continue Reading” link to get to the main part of a story, and this never works on either Chrome or IE. I’m assuming these are browser bugs and I can’t do anything about them. Am I right?

No, its just you. Silver’s pop-ups and the Salon Continue reading links work for me in Chrome, Firefox, and IE.

I suggest you uninstall and reinstall the browsers, and make sure IE is fully updated

Thanks. Tried it with Chrome. Same problems. :frowning:

It works well for me in Chrome…

You’ve tried what? Reinstalling?

Have you perhaps turned off JavaScript, or made some other change in your settings that could be causing this?

Try disabling your add-ons. If you use an ad-blocker, sometimes they’ll accidentally block more than just ads.

Yes, I tried reinstalling, and no I haven’t changed any settings. I turned off AdBlock also, to no effect. It’s the only extension I now have.

ETA: Checked javascript, it’s enabled.
