I like them both a lot, so I’ll try it, if I ever see it out here in the boonies.
I will be looking for it. My husband will be away for three weeks pretty soon, that would be a good time for me to be able to cook it (he hates cooking anything that spatters over his clean kitchen). Or maybe I need to learn to cook bacon in the microwave.
Not angry about this, but what I really wanted was bacon-flavored cereal.
Cinnamon might work well with bacon, but if it’s based on the cereal, it probably has way too much sugar.
I sous vide bacon over night in the original packaging. Then I snip the corner and pour off the grease into a container for future use. I fan-fold bacon strips in parchment paper and store it in a zip-lock in the refrigerator.
When I use it I just heat each piece for a minute in a pan or microwave.
Is that enough to make it at all crispy? Or what is the texture like with your process?
Pig candy, or candied bacon sounds similar
If I want it crispy I microwave it 15 seconds at a time to desired point of crisp. When I make rumaki I use it as is and I boil the chicken livers to rare, wrap them with the sous vide bacon, dip them in sauce, then bake.
i was wondering if its going to be just a flavored glaze or a dry rub type of deal
but it covers most of Americas favorite 3 food groups meat grease and sugar
Just shared with my daughter. I told her we’d buy it once for fun if we can find it.
Did you try the Malt-o-Meal maple bacon donut cereal from a few years ago? It wasn’t bad, although the slightly meaty test was a little weird in a cereal.
I never understand comments like this. Whenever I cook bacon, it’s because I want the bacon grease right now, in whatever it is that I’m making. The grease is the reason for existence of bacon.
Different strokes. I don’t like fat. I know people say fat is flavour, but yuck. I prefer turkey bacon.
