What song might this be? It sounds like Journey, but I don’t recognize it. Please help me identify the song title, artist, and album title, if you know it:
The first appearance of the chorus says:
“She’s young now, she’s wild now, she wants to be free…”
The second time, the chorus alternates to:
“I’m young now, I’m wild now, I want to be free…”
I didn’t think I knew anything by Triumph! Is a lot of their stuff like that? Wow, what an awesome, “Triumphant” sound!!! It’s like a welcomed breath of fresh air just when I thought there was nothing new to discover!
My eyes still have that negative afterimage from the enormous lighted sign that they hung behind the band during concerts. It prolly wouldn’t have been so bad, but I had just seen Genesis the week before and they had the same sign (but with different letters). For years afterward I was legally blind. Honest. <— me, for years afterward… legally blind… I swear I’m not making this up… honest
Triumph is a great band, unjustly forgotten these days. They’ve got a lot of hard-rockin’ stuff as well as more melodic, “triumphant” sounding tunes like “Magic Power”, “Hold On”, and “Fight the Good Fight”. Best of all, they have NO wimpy power ballads! (At least, not until 1986, when they started to really suck. But all bands fall victim to that fate…)
I’d check 'em out in this order: Allied Forces (where “Magic Power” is from), Never Surrender, Thunder Seven, Progressions of Power, and Just a Game. You might also like their first two albums, which are more embryonic in style, but I think they’re only available as Canadian imports, if at all.
Oh, and Duran Duran’s “Rio” is a good song, too…just not germane to this thread.
