There was apparently a popular show called Farscape on for a while, on cable. She was in that, too.
I’ll do that with a voice, but not with writing styles. I always, even as a kid, put faces to the voices on the radio.
And yes, I’m with you on the Jon Voight/Angelina Jolie, that’s part of why I don’t get the sex appeal she seems to have for a lot of people.
Maybe we should start a separated at birth thread. I don’t know if they have a site, but man, I picked up that book going, yes, yes, yes, finally somebody else gets it.
To take this just one step further, who did you see in Johnny Depp’s character in Charley and the Chocolate Factory? For me it was a blend of Judge Judy, Carol Channing, maybe a dash of Carol Burnett and somebody I still can’t quite place. (Maybe a soupcon of Michael Jackson?) I hope you’ve seen that one.
That interpretation is rather at odds with the post in question:
I simply can’t interpret this post in a way to say Kirstin Dunst was NOT PRETTY ENOUGH to play MJ.
Strangely enough I saw him, when I just heard the voice, as a small, thin, effiminate, blond boy with curls. But I definitely got the Carol Channing-Michael Jackson vibe.
She is Australian, but she apparently spent a lot of time in England studying theatre (and I believe part of her childhood was spent in England, as well.). Hence the British accent.
I vote for babe. Total babe. ElzaHub has serious lust for her as well, once I introduced him to Farscape (although he likes her on Stargate better, simply for the costuming ).
Well, twas just a guess, based on my own feelings. Maybe they will come back and clarify.
Although i am an avowed chubby chaser i find myself very attracted to her …Something about chicks with guns
She reminds me a bit of Sophia Loren, a certified babe of a previous era.
Yeah, she’s only 5’7". A midget really. Ray Stevens did a song about her. Before she was born.
Seriously, at 6’3" I don’t think 5’7" is very tall, but it certainly isn’t petite and surely it’s well over average.
Back to the OP - CB has a very interesting face and I’d do her, but she is in no way a traditional beauty. She reminds me a bit of Sonia Braga.
I heard Dana Carvey doing GHW Bush.
 Pistols at dawn, sir!
I believe that just might be it! Thanks!
I am willing to bet that Depp fused those various influences more or less deliberately. I don’t see him stumbling onto things like that nor in just “doing a voice” for the character. Too many examples of his ability to mimic almost anybody, and the cleverness to be a chameleon of types. Every time I see him I’m still more impressed.
Claudia Black? Complete and utter babe. But no, not right for Wonder Woman.
And I’ll be there to back you up.
About Claudia Black: Margeret Hamilton Lite. And I think “Lite” may be too generous.
Claudia Black: Excellent actress. Does kickass heroine (or villainess, I imagine) very well. But not a babe.
She is rather ‘mannish’.
I first saw her in Pitch Black. Took an instant dislike to her. Can’t stand her in anything since, which in this case is only a few glimpses of Farscape.
Hey that’s E or Edna from the Incredibles.
On Claudia Black: Not a Hollywood Hottie but a good looking woman.
Margeret Hamilton: She needed the witch make up to look less ugly.
