I spent all afternoon in digging up the front lawn, and I just got out of the shower. If anyone is still reading thsi thread, I should be there about 6:00ish. (
Sheesh! Am I the first to report in? A good time was had by all. We even got to enjoy the patio until the rains came. But inside wasn’t too bad.
BMalion was a welcome addition to the group. I believe that Chronos figured out the average age of the group. Quite high. He dragged us down.
I hope kittenblue will get some pictures up later.
Put it on your calendar. Next year–elmwood’s back yard. Cook out.
Here’s the pictures!
[symbol]Cronos[/symbol], (no omega), is welcome back any time.
I had a wonderful time. The company was just as engaging as I could have hoped. The conversation scintillating. I was honored to be there and I’m really looking foreward to Elwood’s backyard!
Samclem, thanks for helping make me feel so welcome. TomnDeb, nice meeting you.
[symbol]Cronos[/symbol], I knew there was no omega!
The rest of you, what a swell bunch. KittenBlue, great pictures! Thanks.
Is it just me, or does it seem like if we could trick Mister Thyristor into saying his name backwards he’d disappear into the 5th dimension?
Aw crud… I’m bummed beyond belief.
Saturday morning, I went to Cincinnati to pick up a van (that I bought on ebaY! YAH!) and due to that weather didn’t get into my driveway until well past midnight.
Sorry I missed y’all.

It was great seeing you all again! It was difficult to heep my doctor’s advice to use my voice as little as possible, but when you’re at a Dopefest, it’s hard to stay out of the coversation. Maybe a winter get-together before the Fest next summer?
Here’s the site of the 2006 Cleveland Dopefest, in beautiful South Euclid, Ohio. One of the best beer stores in the Great Lakes region is a few blocks away, so there’s no excuse not to bring some quality libations. Also bring folding chairs. There’s lots of wood for the campfire.
Oh yeah … bring your wi-fi equipped laptops!

Darn! (And I tried it verbally too!)
I always wanted to visit the 5th dimension (and Marilyn McCoo might be interesting to meet).
And just to clear up one last lingering question from the evening (because it’s been driving me crazy for three days and I finally broke down and Googled): Hal Holbrook’s wife is Dixie Carter. See, samclem, we weren’t far off when we both came up with Georgia! Her character’s name in Designing women was Julia, but the show was set in Georgia, so…
Oh, and bmalion? I drank that Old Peculier the next day. I’m not sure beer is ever going to be my first choice adult beverage.
