closed threads

i was wondering why “Saint Zero Eplains Immortality for us” was closed.
Do threads close after a certain number of responses or pages, or if the mod thinks that the thread is going nowhere?
I never got to respond what someone pointed out in my post.
Should I start a new thread or -“for god’s sake just let it drop!”?

Usually, when a thread is closed, the last message is from the mod who closed it, explaining why. Do you have the URL for the thread in question?

From what I’ve seen, the most common cause for closing threads is when there’s more than one version of the thread open, either accidentally or deliberately. In this case, you just carry on your conversation in the other version of the thread, typically the one with more replies.

It would have been just a tad helpful if you could have identified the thread you were questioning and not made people search all over creation for it. We have many threads on this board, old and new, and none of us has absolute knowledge of the entire set. You need to help us so we can help you.

I bet you mean this thread:

Saint Zero Explains “Immoral” For Us

In the last post in the thread, Alphagene explains the procedure and closes the thread.

A tip to you, Turpentine: when a moderator closes a thread, there’s usually a good reason and you need to pay attention to what they have to say about the issue at hand. Looks to me like that argument can be reopened elsewhere, if you can be civil about it, but it’s over in the Pit.
