Coca-Cola vs. Pepsi

Look - you people have got me all interested in a bloody fizzy drink thread! I think my keyboard is laced with something.

I’m with you there. I always open, then let it stand.

Great! I’d thought I was a freak or something for preferring flatness in my soda’s.

PEPSI, baby. In fact, if I was going to be stuck on a desert island for the rest of my life, and I had a choice of a lifetime supply of any drink (besides water of course), I’d pick ice-cold PEPSI. PEPSI is god’s gift to humanity.

COKE comes from Satan. Note the red can.

Pepsi makes Jesus cry. Coke all the way.

On a side note, Henry Weinhard’s Root Beer is the nectar of the gods. Try some and you’ll thank me.

I knew there was a reason I liked Coke!

Coke–I don’t much care for Pepsi. If i’m in a place that only serves Pepsi, i’ll get it and ask for some lemon juice; that at least makes a reasonable approximation of Coke.

…of course, now they sell Pepsi with lemon already in it…go figure.

I was actually thinking of a way of opening the can at the bottom and then reseal it. In the good old days, before the aluminium cans, it would have been possible, but not anymore, I think.

Why must I wait for passover to get Coca-Cola made with cane sugar? I presume it is listed on the can, in un-ambiguous language as: “Contents, Sugar, etc…?” None of this “May, or may not, contain semi-hydrogenated mono and di-glyceride esters of fatty acids” or somesuch?

There’s a small, local soda pop maker that has various all natural flavors and still uses cane sugar. It’s expensive, but really tasty. Maybe it’s time to get Castro on board with this capitalism thing so we can get decent Coke and Pepsi around here…

Personally, I can’t tell the difference between the two because I’m dumber than a sackfull of hammers; thanks for your vote.

Actually, I drink beer more than Coke or Pepsi, especially when I’m mowing the lawn in the hot sun. I suck down a bottle of industrial beer and keep on plugging. If it had a taste, I’d probably be offended. I have nothing against either Coke or Pepsi, but under those conditions that sugar does nothing but attract bugs.

COKE

<caffeine jitters>** J-J-J-J-J-J- JOLT! **</cj>

…or Coke. I live in a divided household - the wife drinks Pepsi. When she decided to cut out caffeine [sub](and WHOO, wasn’t that three weeks of hell!)[/sub] we settled on caffeine-free Pepsi. I find it tastes better than regular, and almost as good as Coke.

And I’ll say this to help settle the “Pepsi is sweeter than Coke” debate: We are a divided household in another way, too - Mrs. Tygr, dedicated Pepsi swiller, drinks sweet iced tea, while I drink unsweet. (She makes it like syrup!)

But IBC Root Beer is the true liquid manna.

I dislike Coke because of the ‘filmy’ feel it gives my teeth… urgh… that can’t be good. Pepsi doesn’t give me that feel at all. I prefer it.
I don’t drink New, Diet, One, Clear or Lemon anything.

I am on-board with New Coke. Actually, I still have a can of it on my shelf. Younger folk probably have no idea why regular Coke is called Coke Classic.

Pepsi all the way.

Coke is gross. How can anyone think that Pepsi tastes sweeter than Coke? Coke is like drinking fizzy pancake syrup. Blech! :stuck_out_tongue:

Pepsi is the best!

Rise UP my brothers in regular Pepsi! Show these Coke-drinking blasphemers the truth!

PEPSI!!!

i’m drinking it right now! (and, oddly enough, that statement will probably be true now and whenever anyone else reads this)
Pepsi is the nectar of the gods, Coke is toliet water!

So far, I count 19 for Coke and 14 for Pepsi. This took quite a bit of work since I wanted to make sure that no one voted twice.

Since these boards are filled with intelligent people with good taste, I’d think that if we took a poll of the general population, we’d get a much higher percentage in favor of Coke.

Coke drinkers: You might have to read that last comment twice.

After TARS’ post, it’s 19-15 in favor of Coke.

As long as we stick to regular cola…then I’m all for Pepsi. Coke is too sweet, and makes me want to immediately brush my teeth.
