Coffee. Because jail is a real place and you can't get the MMP there.

About the only thing I will share with the house critters is I will occasionally give the dogs pizza crust. They all know better otherwise and will only pester VWife for handouts.

I love it when a plan comes together…

I spend the first few minutes of my Mondays checking my webcomics, which are usually updated on that day.

Blurf.

I got our taxes done at the tail end of January, and we got our state refund, teensy tho it was, within a week. Today, a chunk will be extracted from checking, electronically, of course, and flung at the Feds. Guess it’s a good thing last Firday was payday.

That little project the boss gave me is more of a pain in the patoot than it should be. For whatever reason, the program wasn’t letting me save until I did a reboot. But I think I’m finally on track.

And I forgot a couple of items on last week’s pain in the patoot task, so I’ll get to them when I’m done with this. After lunch. I need the break.

Neither do I, but that’s because artificial sweeteners give me a headache.

sari, I like making to-do lists too. Sometimes I even do things on them! Like taking the boxes from my move to the recycling center, which I finally did this morning. Then I checked out the park up the street from me in Airport Town. It’s got some nice walking trails that I’ll be exploring.

I got my taxes done as soon as I got all my pieces of paper together in February. I don’t like waiting to get that done.

The only reason my taxes got done early is because the mortgage company wanted to see them. The only reason they got paid early is because the mortgage company wanted to see proof that they had been paid.

BigKitty - I still have boxes on my back porch waiting to be recycled. Mostly though because this town is still in the dark ages of recycling and all cardboard has to be cut up into pieces no bigger than 2’ by 2’. Then they have to be put into the approved recycle container or taken to the center. Not like the armpit where you could set them out with other recyclables in them, or take them to the center and throw them in.

Cat is still hiding, I think he ate one tiny piece of fish I cut it up but didn’t count how many pieces there were but there is a little dried spot on the plate.
The shelter called to see how he is doing and said as long as he is drinking to give him more time.

I start the morning with half a grapefruit then coffee. Used to enjoy a morning cig, but no more. Taxes were done beginning of February.

Ursala kitteh is not interested in my food except for popcorn. Last week she took a bit of my salad dressing (oil and vinegar) which sent her into a sneezing fit.

I am so aggravated. There is too much bureaucracy in this world.

I am angry at myself for not starting this whole SSDI application process in 2013. Now it’s going to be a year or more before my appeal is even scheduled for a hearing. They denied my initial claim because they are clueless morons following some arbitrary guidelines set down by healthy people.

I will be homeless before the year is up unless I can get some sort of temporary assistance, and even that takes time. My brother can only help so much.

I am caught between a rage scream and a hysterical sob. If I had applied when I first had to leave my job, I’d be set by now. My stomach is churning and I am so angry and so upset, I can barely see to type.

Rather than “training in progress”, I recommend "Axe Murderer Inside–Do Not Disturb!! Of course, that may get you talked about…or arrested…

Cool, what do you follow? Mine are Girl Genius (MWF), Schlock Mercenary (daily), and Stand Still, Stay Silent (M-F, but on a hiatus until May)

My Mondays generally begin like every other irk morning: check the email, start the coffee, check the glucose and the rest of the medical crap, shower, pack breakfast and lunch and head off to irk.

Howdy Y’all! Finally reportin’ in. Just so y’all don’t go into withdrawals, 'tis 76 Amurrkin out and sunny with a predicted high of 80 and sunny for the day. My Moanday starts out like all other days of the week. I wake up, caffeinate, surf the web, feed rumbly tummy, purtify, and go to irk. I have been out and about today (west forty) and am now back in the orifice and have had N.O.L.

{{{rosie}}} I am so sorry for all your frustration. Have you talked with a lawyer about the SSDI claim?

Tonight is men’s night over to the church house. Thus, steaks are marinatin’ and beer is a chillin’.

OK, back ot irk.

A lawyer won’t take my case until I have a hearing date

Ugh! Sounds like you’ve failed the request for reconsideration as well, and your claim is now somewhere in ODAR.

You may be able to contact them and ask for an OTR (On The Record) determination. That’s where we are with DH’s claim after the reconsideration was denied even though his condition is on the Compassionate Allowance List. CAL conditions are *supposed *to trigger an automatic grant of benefits, but the twits at the CA Disability Determination Service ignored it.

“ODAR”?

Whaddaya mean I’ve failed the request for reconsideration?
They denied my initial claim, so I appealed. The appeal needs a hearing. They’re taking their fucking time to schedule it.

Some states add their own variations to the SSDI process. In California, the initial claim is handled by the DDS (Disability Determination Service) and if that claim is denied, you get to file for a Request for Reconsideration, which is also mishandled by the DDS. Most RFRs are denied as they’re little more than a perfunctory re-check of the existing filing. If your RFR is denied, you step up to requesting an appeal at ODAR, the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review for a hearing before an Administrative Law Judge or ALJ. In California, the wait time to have a hearing before the ALJ scheduled is around 16 months.

The process is truly awful and seems designed to discourage people from pursuing a claim. Kafkaesque and Orwellian don’t come close to describing it. :frowning:

Howdy Y’all! Moanday has been survived. Now I shall leave da cave with steaks and beer in hand and head over to the church house to get stuff set up. Oh and I got word the brand new anonymously donated grand piano is now in the church proper. I must go needs take a peak and possibly play “Chopsticks.”

gotti, in NY, we skip the RFR process and for straight to appeal. But the wait for a hearing is way too long for any reasonable person.

My theory is all the red tape and wait times are for weeding out the ones who don’t really need it - they give up after a while. But I won’t. I’ll just scream and cry a lot.

Rosie I imagine some folks also die waiting. It is shameful. Hugs to you and Gotti

I finished the budget. Can’t believe I got it all done but I did and cannot even think of anything I may have forgotten. We shall see when the Business Manager looks at it.

I am planning a trip to middle Jawja to visit my family and was having a hard time working around the auditors in May and my trip to WA state in early June. I sent an email to the Business Manager asking what the dates are for the auditors in May and he wrote me back-“You got lucky, they have cancelled their visit”. Whoopee. I don’t fear the auditors as I run a tight ship but one less thing to worry about. Now I just got to find some cheap flights.

**rosie **- would it make any sense to contact your elected representatives? Are you a member of AARP - they offer help with all kinds of things. Or a local TV troubleshooter advocate person? I’ve never had to deal with SS, so I’m just tossing stuff out there.

Home. Cod thawing for supper, to be eaten with broccoli and pasta roni of some sort. I think I’ve got just enough energy to feed us. Then I intend to collapse. I briefly considered mulching my gardens, but that ain’t gonna happen today. I’s tahred!

*gives **rosie *a board with a rusty nail sticking out to use on the SSDI people

You want Robert A. Heinlein’s Refresher.

To hell with flying cars, I want my Refresher!
