Coffee. Because jail is a real place and you can't get the MMP there.

Happy belated Metal Mouse Day!

May I recommend Dog? If you look at his policies you’ll find that he’s a good boy that we can all support.

Up, caffeinated, and sheveled. Short day today.

Sí, señor

Why does Kathy Perry keep cropping up in my youtube feed? :dubious:

Forgot to mention: I went to bed with Mel last night and dreamed that **Rue **came back to the MMP. (For those who don’t know, he started the MMP about 15 years back.) Then in the dream, I remember thinking that I had to tell you about the dream. Mel does weird things to my head, but I did get just over 8 hours of sleep, so yay!

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. YAWN 'Tis 61 Amurrkin out and cloudy with a predicted high of 81 and cloudy but no rain. Tomorrow’s forecast went from a 60 percent chance of afternoon tstorms to a 20 percent chance overnight. :dubious:

I like the voices. They understand me.

OK that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and alack irk purtification must commence. At least ‘tis my Firday and sinuses feel somewhat better this mornin’.

Happy Thursday Y’all!

All righty! I’m all set up in my new office - huzzah! And it turns out the phone sets itself up, so I’ve got it, too. Our desks are L-shaped, and this one has me sitting 90° from the other one. I could sit the other way, but then my screens would be visible to the hallway, and people could come up behind me without me noticing, which I hate. My last boss before I retired loved to do that - he’d walk in quietly, get right behind me, then whisper “hello” in my ear - giving me a heart attack every time! Smart ass!

Anyway, yay for new digs and no air freshener!!!

b to the l to the u-r-f

It’s Thursday. The sprog is upstairs coughing his lungs out, so I’m taking a sick day to take care of him.

Happy belated birthday, MetalMouse!

In a week, I will be cleaning out my desk and cubicle. The contents of my desk and cubicle will live in the trunk of my car until I have permanent digs in my new office. I will need a new USC poster, though, since the one I have is for last season.

I need to make coffee for myself, tea for the sprog (the hot liquid will help him get rid of the crud that’s making me cough), and maybe some breakfast. Then I have housework to do, as long as I’m home today.

I got a text from one of my brothers tellin’ me that Frank, mom’s husband, died early this mornin’. :frowning: He had been placed on home hospice last Firday and had not been in good health for quite a while. Any prayers, good thoughts, etc. for Frank, mom and his family would be appreciated. We anticipate the funeral to be Sattidy. I reckon my day off irk tomorrow will be spent goin’ up to ye olde hometowne.

MOOOOOOM yay on the new irk digs!

{{{swampy & mom}}} - golly, it doesn’t seem that long ago that your mom and Frank were married. Hugs to you and your family… :frowning:

{{{{{swampy}}}}}. First your sister taking ill, now this. My condolences to you and the entire family.

Thanks again to all the evening/belated Orbit Completion Date happines. And thanks sunny for the nice remark; hopefully I will continue to deserve it.

Bit embarrassing last evening, I tend to walk around the house in the evenings in either my underwear or…less. So when my neighbors (very nice people) knocked at the door to give me a small cake for my birthday, I did not have any clothes in reach, so I had to hide behind the door and accept their gift. I need to apologize next time I see them (and leave a pair of pants close at hand).

Supposed to go to lunch with the folks in the office today to celebrate my impending retirement; which is nice and I hope to see some folks I’ve lost touch with over the years, but it also means I’ll have to sit and make conversation with my bosses, which is something I don’t enjoy (they are perfectly decent people, mind you; just not folks I’d usually choose to spend a lunch sitting next to).

Ah well, the sacrifices one must make…

**MetalMouse **- not retirement, but changing jobs… As background, I was working in Jax, then went to Dahlgren, VA, then back to Jax (same job) then back to Dahlgren (same organization, different job.) When I left Jax the first time, they had a lunch for me, which was nice, if a tad uncomfortable (I don’t much like being the honoree.) When I was getting ready to leave the second time, I told my boss I didn’t want a lunch. Didn’t matter - I think they wanted an excuse to get away from the office for a while. While I knew that boss fairly well - I’d worked for him a total of about 10 years - we weren’t friends by any stretch of the imagination. Sitting next to him for the lunch was not the most comfortable of situations, especially since I really didn’t want to be there. I kinda felt guilty that they were doing it again 7 years after I’d left the first time.

When I did retire, my boss was good enough to do a casual thing in a conference room. He made a silly speech and gave me some silly gifts. Of course, the big difference was that I truly liked him. Moral of the story - hey, free lunch!

My condolences, Swampy.

{{{Swampy & Mom}}} Sorry to hear your news. My prayers and condolences.

Mooomm Glad the move went well. I know what you mean about sitting with your back to everyone. It’s annoying and a little creepy.

Sari How is cat?

BooFae I have Pub Envy. We have a severe shortage of the same.

Kid 2 on the bus. Kid 1 about to be prodded into school readiness.

Rain coming in. High today of 70, down from a high 2 days ago of almost 100.

Happy Thorsday all.

Boss finally brought me some work. I just finished lunch, so I guess I should get back to it. These documents aren’t going to revise themselves!!!

With the Nature’s Miracle, does it come in a spray bottle? I don’t think that the carpet is the only thing that got peed on.

Go CSI–a UV flashlight is dirt cheap and shows the "evidence ".
