Coincidence, or message from TPTB?

So today, gf and I went out to eat at the Chinese buffet place in the next town.
Usual day really. We decided on the way home to stop by the tattoo shop and visit a friend that works there, then drive-by a house we were dead-set on buying (but it came under contract before the following Monday, and we had no chance of out-bidding for it).

Then she finished eating and he brought us the bill. I got up to get another plate of chicken and she was telling me how starting the program for her MA this week has seemed a little scary. Of course, this led to talk of future plans once she finishes, mostly about where she could continue graduate studies for her PhD. Then she opens her fortune cookie…

“Your present plans are going to succeed.”

Nice thought. A pretty good cookie…

We continue talking for about 5 more minutes and I get up to leave and she points out I forgot my cookie. I sit back down and open it…

“Your present plans are going to succeed.”

I thought it sounded familiar. After showing it to gf, we agreed, this means we must be succeeding at something. The fortunes were printed the exact same…numbers, chinese word, everything…Odd coincidence.

So dopers, anything like this happen to you recently? or years ago? Hell, I’m just fishin for a good story about coincidences!

“We’ve run out of the ‘Your present plans will succeed’ fortune cookies.”

“Better break open the ‘You’re doomed to failure’ barrell.”

I have an interesting fortune cookie story.

About 1 year ago an aunt of mine moved down from montana. She had been taking care of my Grandmother there and when she died her life basically fell apart and my family let her more in with them so she could get a fresh start. A few weeks after she moved down here we all went to a chinese restaurant, ate food, and got our cookied. We (me and family) opened our cookies first. Each of them said “You have an unwanted presence in your life”. My aunt laughed because they all said the same thing then opened her cookie which said something along the lines of “Do not trust the people around you.” except cryptic in a fortune cookie like way. Luckily enough she took it with a grain of salt and we all had a good laugh but what a coincidence that was…wow.

I was once stood at the bus stop and an Argos (catalogue shopping place) delivery vehicle pulled up and asked one of the people at the bus stop for directions.

Driver: “Can you tell me how to get to Generic Street, please?”
Bus-Stop Guy: “Sure, are you going to number 33?”
Driver: “Yes…”
Bus-Stop Guy: “Great, you must have my new T.V. in there.”

Not the greatest story ever but I thought it was a pretty big coincidence that the driver asked the guy for directions to his own house.
