I’m with you on Van Gaal. I’m just glad he’s no longer fucking up our national team. Lord knows they don’t need any help whatsoever when it comes to fucking up.

To continue the hijack: I was present a couple of years ago, in the Amsterdam Arena, when a birthday party was thrown for Cruyff. He turned 50 that day. A team of former and current Ajax stars played a team of former and current Barca stars, with Johan playing one half for each side. It was magic. Even Van Basten (bad ankle and all) was fielded in the second half: both him and Cruyff hadn’t lost a bit of their brilliance. Some speed, sure: they gained a few pounds over the years. But for a 50 year old guy, Cruyff still was pacing up and down the field, and scored a great goal on a Van Basten assist. The crowd went MAD, a 1-2 between the two best players in history. Beautiful.
Make that: best two Dutch players in history. Although IMHO, Cruyff is certainly up there with Pele and Maradonna.
I had literally no idea Pele and Maradonna were Dutch.
Sound like a real treat that. Players like those two come around once every generation – too bad VB’s career was cut short.
I’ll just add that you need to throw Di Stefano in the mix when speaking of “best players in history.”
And to end the hijack, yep, you do give off a distinct ermm…odor?

Hey! I even sort of defended you. In my own cryptic way.
I’m pretty sure that Coldfire is actually responsible for me not being able to get into LiveJournal, as well as being smelly. I’m pretty sure that he wants us to all stay here and keep all the mundane, pointless things to HIMSELF! “Bwahahahaha,” I hear him laugh all the way over here.
