Predictions for Saturday’s Michigan-Ohio State game?
I went to U of M and am a fan, but I actually think Ohio State will win. I just have this feeling about it, no real case to be made.

As a U Mich Guy, I am clearly biased.
But being at their toilet they call home. I certainly am not feeling cocky. The best edge for UM is that the guy the rely on Corum (as I am assuming he will play) is a RB and I think nervous, uptight energy on young players in a bonus in that position. Ohio’s best guy is a QB who has struggled against less pressure much of the season, and as a position is less likely to benefit from ultimate attention.
I went to and graduated from Ohio State. The Michigan game is the only game that matters to me. Yeah, a national championship is nice, but the season is a failure if we lose to Michigan.
I always respect their team. There was one year at home, OSU was undefeated, UM had a few losses. I was in the Horseshoe sitting with my friends in the student section. Always a wild time there! But they beat us anyway. After the final whistle it was a deathly quiet. Like a funeral. (Looking at wiki, must’ve been 1996.)
I hope for the best, but both teams play differently when against each other. Anything can happen.
I graduated from Michigan and feel the same. I think the advantage is definitely Ohio State this year, but I am hopeful. Nice to have a year where both teams are undefeated.
Good luck. I give Michigan about a 30% chance.
'Noles win a nail-biter over Florida. 9-3 now with a guaranteed bowl bid and chance at 10 wins for the first time in a long time. We aren’t “back”, but we’re certainly headed in that direction for the moment.
We would be the winners of the Florida Cup if they were giving it out this year (they aren’t until 2024 and 2025). This is the 6th time we’ve beaten both schools and been denied the Cup.
The current projections I’ve seen have us in the Duke’s Mayo Bowl, Sun Bowl, or Holiday Bowl depending on who you look at, but if Notre Dame loses big to USC, I think we’ll get the Gator Bowl instead. They pick before the other two and we’re a big draw for the Gator Bowl since we’re only 2.5 hours down I-10. I suppose given the loss by NC that we could get the Cheez-It Bowl with a big ND loss, but that seems more unlikely. Although given Cheez-It is played in Orlando, Gator in Jacksonville, and Duke’s in Charlotte, NC, it would be logical to keep the fans local and thus, hopefully, boost attendance.
FYI, I’m assuming here that NC will lose to Clemson in the ACC Championship. We are currently ahead of NC and just behind Notre Dame in the standings. NC will drop and one would assume ND will too (if they lose to USC) which would leave us the 2nd highest ranking team in the ACC - which might or might not mean anything.
I don’t understand the websites that have us getting picked either 5th or 7th out of the ACC. No Florida-based bowl is going to take Pitt or NC State over FSU when we’re ranked ahead of them. Especially given our recent lack of Bowl-ing and the pent-up demand amongst our fans. Ticket sales do matter to the organizing committees.
Michigan vs. Ohio State. 11-0 vs. 11-0. The world is watching.
These two teams are punching each other in the mouth, and I love it. 20-17 Ohio State at halftime.
I’m skipping back and forth between games. Georgia Tech is actually playing pretty tough against Georgia. They are going to get stomped, but they are hangin’ in!
I’m dying here watching it. I thought my Michigan team had zero chance, but they are doing well. Even with a lead, I don’t think they’ll pull it off. Call my cynical.
:knocks on wood:
Y’all are up 15 with 4 minutes to go. Congratulations! ![]()
South Carolina beat Clemson. Any time Clemson loses is a good time. Same with South Carolina, but you can’t have everything.
My Dawgs took care of business at Ga Tech, 37-14. Hell, I’m so old I remember when 37-14 was considered a dominating win.
ETA: 45-23. Congratulations, Michigan!
You are cynical!
After that touchdown…OH MY GOD I THINK MICHIGAN IS GOING TO DO IT!
The greatest game in Michigan football history.
Welp, I was wrong, we didn’t need Corum after all. :):)![]()
The greatest game in the history of University of Michigan football. The second half was probably the most shocking turn of events I’ve seen in a long time. Michigan just blew out Ohio State and I haven’t celebrated a sports victory like this in a long time. Wow.
@Pleonast Sorry, bud, I gave Michigan very little chance going into Columbus.
The wailing of spoiled O.S.U. fans is sweet, sweet music.
Amazing game indeed. While beating Ohio is one of the greatest thrills a Michigan fan can experience, especially when it happens in Columbus, I still think the Notre Dame game under the lights in 2011 is the best Michigan game I’ve ever seen.
Still, this win is sweet, especially since we didn’t have Corum today or a passing game all season. Sainristil punching that ball out of the receiver’s hands in the endzone may have made me squeal a little. Some weird noise came out of me.
Up your nose with a rubber hose, Buckeyes!
Michigan will now play the winner of the Big 10 West for the league championship. Purdue is 5-3 and will win the West with a victory over Indiana today.
But right now Indiana leads 7-3. Should Indiana win, there could be four teams at 5-4 in the West. Can any Big 10 fan tell us who might win the West in that scenario? Or are the possibilities too convoluted to mention at this point?
ETA: Just ran across this. I cannot vouch for its accuracy, but here it is:
Purdue wins the Big Ten West if…
The Boilermakers beat Indiana
Illinois wins the Big Ten West if…
The Fighting Illini beat Northwestern AND
Purdue loses to Indiana
Iowa wins the Big Ten West if…
Purdue loses to Indiana AND
Illinois loses to Northwestern
So it appears that Wisconsin and Minnesota, who are playing each other, have no chance to win the division, even though one of them will finish 5-4.
I feel sorry for The Oregon St. Beavers. Not only do they have to face the Mighty 8th ranked Ducks, they have to overcome the Unranked Officials.
I watched maybe 5 minutes and saw them get Butt-Fucked by the stripey crew twice.
Taggert now out at FAU, can we just understand he’s a mistake who happened to get lucky?
Late in their game against Minnesota, the Wisconsin Badgers were down by 7, and starting quarterback Graham Mertz got injured; the Badgers had to turn to backup Chase Wolf, a senior who had 25 career attempts, and with no timeouts left.
Wolf got the Badgers to a 1st-and-goal at the Minnesota 5 (in part thanks to a pass interference call in the end zone), with 21 seconds left to play. And, at that point, the Badgers imploded, with this being the series of plays which followed:
Holy Shit! I wrote them off, and took the dogs out in the Jeep. Came home and “Wha… The Fuck???”
Stuff your ugly-ass uniforms up your vents, Ducks!
