Holy shit, my hometown Old Dominion Monarchs stomped a mudhole in the previously-undefeated Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.
Michigan ran all over Penn State today, and the Devil is in the details. From ESPN:
“(Blake) Corum has 666 rushing yards in his past four games, the most by a Michigan player since quarterback Denard Robinson in 2010 and the most by a Wolverines running back since Mike Hart in 2004, according to ESPN Stats & Information.”
As for Alabama-Tennessee, if you change one letter in Saban’s name…
Volunteers win!
Yeah, FSU lost and was clearly outmatched by Clemson. But, it wasn’t an embarrassment. That horrible 70 point beat down under Taggert still stings
Last night, in a clearly forgettable game, Georgia Tech lost to Virginia 16-9. On the last play of the game, the ball was snapped with about six seconds to play. Obviously the only hope is a Hail Mary, but the GT quarterback decided to run out of bounds and end the game. I hope he lost track of the clock, because this isn’t a real good look.
Oregon has just set the (low) bar for Ugliest Uniforms Ever. Black/Black with Florescent Yellow and Hot Pink. This is hard to watch. I wish they would stop this shit.
My Kent State Golden Flashes won the Battle for the Wagon Wheel, 33-27 over Akron.
They get a lot of money to be Nike’s Barbie dolls, so it’s unlikely to be different any time soon.
As a breast cancer survivor, I could do without Pinktober all around.
#9 Oklahoma St is being Hammered by #22 Kansas. WTF?? 35-0 at the half!
Kansas is ranked? WTAF???
Kansas State, actually.
They were. It’s been a great season for KU so far.
Yes, sorry. It’s Purple Kansas, not Funny Bird Kansas.
Mothersbaugh and the Pac-12 officials (who are usually very good) certainly shit the bed at the end of the first half of the 'SC game, and almost certainly cost them at least 3 points. Bad!
I’m glad Michigan defeated Michigan State this weekend. They are now 8-0. I was at every home game in 1997 when they were undefeated.
When is the last time Michigan went 8-0?
2016 Michigan went 9-0 before losing to three of their last four games (Iowa, Ohio State, and Florida State in the Orange Bowl).
I was at the UM-MSU game on Saturday. We had a good friendly ribbing with nearby MSU fans but nothing serious (offered the fans a rule book after 3 penalties on the first drive). They joined us and the student section in a good hearty “F*&! Ohio!” later in the fourth quarter.
I was surprised to hear what happened after the game in the tunnel later when we were driving home. Totally inexcusable. There is no amount of jawing, taunting, or anything that deserves assault. On two different Michigan players. In case anyone wants to blame the “tunnel” for the incident, MSU has only one tunnel in their stadium too.
If sanity prevails, all football stadiums with a single tunnel leading to the locker rooms will mandate only one team at a time can use it, with a gap of five minutes or so between opposing teams’ entrances and exits.
I saw a blurb yesterday morning showing the confrontation in the tunnel. That was my immediate thought, too. What the heck were both teams doing in there at the same time?!
I’m a Spartan through and through but the assaults that took place Saturday are terrible and those involved should be removed from the team and expelled from the university as well as face criminal charges. If that means that MSU loses every remaining game and sucks for two years, so be it. If Mel Tucker can’t control the players, then he shouldn’t be coach.
That being said- there should be defined times for each team to use a shared tunnel. Give the visiting team 5 minutes from the end of the game to clear out, then the home team goes out. Maybe put a few police in the tunnel as a precaution. This can’t happen again.
