Talk about being master of your domain.
A 1967 Fiat - that’s Jon Voight’s old car.
The best part of the article was at the end, after the driving instructor explained different ways to stop your car if the brakes fail:
Get breaking news results!
Well I thought it was funny, anyway.
Good on ya, Jerry. Good instincts and quick thinking.
I liked this part:
You mean John Voight, don’t you?
I have to admit, from the thread title, I was imagining an overturned car full of screaming passengers, and Jerry going all Hulk/Superman and turning it back upright to rescue them.
“You’re Batman!”
“Yeah, yeah, I am Batman!”
Well, he was prepared
I don’t know if I’d go as far as “hero”, but his keeping his head in a potential panic situation is certainly commendable.
What about Seinfeld’s van? SEINFELD’S VAN?!
Wait. How does a “comedy background” prepare you for stopping a car without brakes?
It doesn’t. It prepares you for telling jokes about stopping a car without brakes.
It’s known as “humor.” Google it.
Check. But it doesn’t tell me how to stop a car without brakes or tell a joke about it.
Nice that he did the right things to stop a car with failed brakes but leaving the scene of an accident, even a single car accident with no real injuries or damage, is bad form.
I didn’t think you could flip a car (especially tiny roadster) going just 30mph on a flat road.
That’s where the comedy background comes in.
I wouldn’t have thought so either, but here we are.
Is that a joke?
No, it’s Jon Voight. Short for Jonathan.
Yeah, but considering the guy is famous and that it sounds like a crowd was gathering I can understand his eagerness to avoid the news cameras that were undoubtedly on their way. I’m not going to hold it against him.
