Comey Fired! Who is covering who?

Which elected official is currently demanding that Comey not be fired?

About as many as called for Clinton’s immediate arrest and jailing despite Comey saying her email offenses did not rise to the level of criminality.

Where is that in my post?

This. It sounds like the investigation had uncovered information on Trump’s Russian business holdings. I expect those are going to be released pretty soon, and that might be enough to get his taxes released.

I will be thrilled if Sessions is no longer our attorney general–but if he announces he’s going to appoint a special prosecutor, and Trump fires him before Sessions can go through with the plan, I’m not going to be happy.

Pause for a second. Do you really think this is the time for you to try to score “liberals is hypocrites” points?

What the hell does Ryan have to do with confirming an FBI Director? :dubious:

Never go full Nixon…

And… Trump just went full Nixon…

What a convincing argument! You should be a lawyer or something.

You chose to quote, and respond, to a previous post of mine where I discussed the lack of support for Comey by members of both major parties. So which elected official is currently demanding that Comey not be fired?

Times have changed. Trump will not be impeached. The Republicans have committed themselves to their path and nothing will stop them. Donald Trump could be caught on film handing the blueprints to U.S. nuclear weapons to Russian spies and they’d demand prosecution of the photographer.

I think you’re both wrong. It was Darryl Issa who was on Maher and said this. Gowdy is the Hyperbolic Hillary Hater of committee fame.

No, but you sure are posting a disingenuous gotcha ya in 2017. Never change.

I guess he was more serious about “because you’ll be in jail” than I realized.

Ryan’s got nothing to do with it, at least as I understand the process.

ETA: and now I see D’Anconia beat me to it.

I stole this precious, beautiful thing you created and used it a Facebook comment as if it were my own creation. It was the pressure to be witty on a moment’s notice. I’m sorry.

Slowly, agonizingly slow. It was like enduring an artillery barrage of one hundred shells delivered over a couple of years.

“Today in Both Things Are True: 1. Comey should have been fired a long time ago. 2. Trump choosing to fire him now looks really bad.”

77 Sunset Strip. Ask your parents.

After reading the whole memo, I don’t think you’ve characterized this accurately. The memo basically lays out the reasoning as:

  1. the decision was not Comey’s to make
  2. he shouldn’t have publicized his recommendation on that front

It’s not saying that he made the wrong decision in recommending against prosecution, which is how your post came across to me.

Mea Culpa, I think you’re right. These buttholes all start to look alike after a while. He probably was the one whose name I didn’t know that I was calling Old Cracker-Ass.

Thanks for posting the correction.
