I can’t remember the company, but the comercial begins with a man sitting on a park bench when EMTs run at him, throw him on the ground, and start yelling for medical attention. When they realize he isn’t actual wounded, they look confused and walk away. Seconds later a chimp comes running out of the woods weilding a chainsaw.
Turns out to be a commercial for software to help synch your servers/pc’s/etc.
I rarely see these ads anymore…I think they were for a chewy granola-oatmeal bar from Quaker. They would show talkative children placing their parents in various embarassing situations; my favorite was a little boy talking to a bride at her wedding: “My mom says she can’t believe you wore white!”
And I know I mention this one every time one of these threads comes up…there was a Jeep ad running a few years back that featured a guy driving around the woods in his new Wrangler. He finally comes upon a beautiful, isolated lake. Thrilled with his discovery (and, presumably, his new purchase), he strips off his clothes, plunges into the lake, and starts singing “Heaven, I’m in heaven…” He stops when several other voices join him. Looking up, he sees that he’s surrounded by previous models of Jeep vehicles and their drivers: a CJ-2A, a station wagon, and a Wagoneer were the most prominently shown. And, of course, the drivers are all waving at the guy in the lake.
The last one just remind me of another, for Disney Cruise Lines.
Woman getting into an elevator with her daughter, and her son (who is in a stroller). Daughter proceeds to tell everyone about the Disney Cruise she took with her parents, before her brother was born. She then proudly proclaims that “Mommy calls him her little souvenir”. The knowing smiles of the adults on the elevator, and the embarassed look on the mother’s face, along with one person’s comment of “Sounds like everybody had a good time” are just too good.
The text messaging lip fungus commercial is what I immediately thought of when seeing this thread. I laughed out loud.
The Miller Beer referees are cute; I especially (for some reason) like the signals used to designate “illegal use of the hand truck”.
T-Mobile commercials are all better than average (in addition to featuring Catherine Zeta-Jones). I love the one with the gorilla, for precisely one reason – the gorilla (while talking on the cell phone) makes the universal hand gesture for “hold on - I’m on the phone”, and that just kills me.
Oh my gosh! I was obsessed with those things-- What a bizarre concept! I used to see them every day during Simpsons reruns- I actually have a six hour tape (of Simpsons) that has the 'AWWW, nuts!" line from the elephant after Sunny ‘won’ taped 3 or 4 times.
