Commercials you actually liked (found amusing etc.)

Yes! I don’t watch reality shows typically, but the first time I saw this commercial, I was thinking about how I’d watch that.

Antinor01, glad to hear that wasn’t just my husband and I thinking that. Then we figured no, he’d probably sound happier if he got “hos.”

There was an ad a couple of years back where they took a car to bits, and then did a single-take shot of one bit doing something, touching off the text bit which did something else, all the way to making the finished car roll off a ramp at the end. There were ball-bearings rolling down ramps and windscreen-wipers “walking” across the floor and all sorts of cool stuff.

I can’t for the life of me remember what car they were advertising (BMW maybe?). But it was a VERY impressive ad

I’ve never seen a Geico caveman commercial. In fact, when I think “cavemen in commercials”, I think either Ogg from the old Kellogg’s Cocoa Krispies ads, or FedEx.

And that’s one of the funniest commercials I’ve ever seen.

“This. Is NOT. Awesome!!!” Love that one but they don’t show it much anymore.

I liked the silly “LeBron” family commercials for Nike with the Little Kid LeBron, Old School LeBron, Pretty Boy LeBron and Playa LeBron. (LeBron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers)

I also like the one where DeWyane (not a misspelling) Wade shows up at the playground with new basketball equipment for the kids then hands the keys of his SUV to the coach. Then DWade rides off on a little bicycle…!

Most of the Peyton Manning commercials were funny (…they’re not booing they’re saying “Moooovers”), but I got tired of seeing him so much during football season. Maybe he will tone it down next year. Quality, not quantity, Peyton!!

Honda Accord.

“The Cog”, it was an ad for the Honda Accord.

sniffle ok fine so you beat me, but myyyy link is more informative! So there!

Just about anything by Stan Freburg, especially the Jeno’s Pizza Roll commercial with Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels in costume as the Lone Ranger and Tonto, and one more level of satire on a current ciggy commercial. He also had a prunes commercial starring Ray Bradbury. The box set came with a tape with lots of them.

I do like the Mac commercials with John Hodgeman, especially after ny experience with my Vista loaner.

This one?

Thank you. I enjoyed that (for Charles, of course).

Those have stuck with me for some reason, too. I don’t know why, since they seemed so goddamn girly. Or maybe I had just never seen a candy bar treated with that kind of hushed reverence before. Here’s one of the commercials.

Okay, maybe I’m the only one, but I really like the Aflac duck series.

AFFFFFFFFFFFLACK!

You are not alone, I love that duck. I even have a small stuffed duck that yells “AFLAC” when you squeeze him. Haven’t seen an Aflac duck ad that didn’t make me laugh. My favorite is the original. The little “eh” noise he makes as he kicks the bread crumb back at the guy gets me every time.

The Slowskys, especially this one.

You push it! Push it REAL good!

My current fave is Charlie Sheen for DirectTV from the “Major League” movies.

“Let’s see how this bruise looks on HD.”

Cracks me up every time. Bonus points for gratuitous Bob Ueker: “Juuuuuust a bit outside.”

I loved that Tasters Choice series of ads in the 90s about two neighbours who shared a love for Tasters Choice coffee… and maybe something else. Amazing chemistry between those two actors.

I stop the FF and rewind for the Rozerem ads featuring Lincoln, a beaver, and a deep sea diver. I especially appreciate how they are paired in ad blocks, and the other advertisers should, too, since I pay more attention (as I FF) to the other ads.

One of my current faves is for Gaz Metropolitain. It’s a fun little ad, and a good one, because the kaleidoscope of blue flames doesn’t let you forget what’s being touted. The song is in Italian, but who cares?

Babies love it: Kaleidoscope Jukebox

There is a regional one for Comcast cable where these two old people are dancing, at first really slow, then faster, then they are really dancing and the old guy starts doing the whip and the woman joins him. I have seen it a bunch, but I laugh every single time.

I also really like the jingle for the new little Pringles, it goes something like, “Oh, small is tremendous…” or something like that. It’s really cute.

Wasn’t one of them Anthony Stewart Head, Giles of Buffy fame?
