Community Gets Stripped - Trailer

Our beloved show Community will start being stripped - meaning, shown five days a week - on Comedy Central this fall. You know, Comedy Central. Where Tosh 2.0 has twice the viewership of The Daily Show.

The network just released a commercial for the show, found in this article.

Don’t you want to be part of the audience for this show? If you do, say Annie’s Boobs three times fast. Giggity.

Is “stripped” a real term, or are you just going for a pun of sorts? This is the first time I’ve heard it as a way of saying “airing in syndication”.

Yes, “stripped” is jargon in television syndication for slotting a show at the same time every weekday.

I thought I was pretty jaded about the lengths advertisers will go to in the name of luring in eyeballs, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a commercial that so thoroughly missed the point of its own subject as that one. Eurgh.

Just wait. By tomorrow Comedy Central will be claiming that it was intentional parody.

Is this indeed proof that Marketing Departments really are evil?

Tosh 2.0 may have a bigger viewership than The Daily Show, but nobody respects the show, or Daniel Tosh.

Oh my God, that commercial SUCKED. I used to dabble in TV production and stuff a couple of decades ago, and I could do a better job NOW than the “professionals” who put this shitstorm together did.

Did you notice they said “jocks,” plural … meaning Troy and Abed? ABED? Seriously?

Like the article mentions, “whoever put together this trailer for the occasion is probably one of the many, many (unfortunate) people who have never seen an episode.” And additionally (and probably accurately), “*It’s *{whatever show is being promoted here, which isn’t the Community I know and love} also likely the show NBC has always wished Community would be.”

On the third hand, I am stoked that Community gets the opportunity to be on five nights a week. Since it’s still not on Netflix streaming and all.

Actually, according to this story,, it’s only four days per week: Tuesday-Friday afternoons at 4:30 pm eastern, then a two-hour block from 9-11 pm on Friday nights.

Still, better than a stick in the eye!

“I am Senor Chang, and I’m so ill
This is a warning, I can’t be killed”

Six seasons, a movie and a syndication deal.

Cool, cool, cool.

Video has been taken down, and I’m having trouble finding it anywhere.

The video is still in the article linked in the OP, for me. I just watched it.

Huh, so it is. Must have been a glitch.

Man, that was terrible. I love Annie’s boobs as much as the next guy, but that’s not actually what makes the show great.

Speak for yourself!

But they don’t hurt.
