Our beloved show Community will start being stripped - meaning, shown five days a week - on Comedy Central this fall. You know, Comedy Central. Where Tosh 2.0 has twice the viewership of The Daily Show.
I thought I was pretty jaded about the lengths advertisers will go to in the name of luring in eyeballs, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen a commercial that so thoroughly missed the point of its own subject as that one. Eurgh.
Oh my God, that commercial SUCKED. I used to dabble in TV production and stuff a couple of decades ago, and I could do a better job NOW than the “professionals” who put this shitstorm together did.
Did you notice they said “jocks,” plural … meaning Troy and Abed? ABED? Seriously?
Like the article mentions, “whoever put together this trailer for the occasion is probably one of the many, many (unfortunate) people who have never seen an episode.” And additionally (and probably accurately), “*It’s *{whatever show is being promoted here, which isn’t the Community I know and love} also likely the show NBC has always wished Community would be.”
On the third hand, I am stoked that Community gets the opportunity to be on five nights a week. Since it’s still not on Netflix streaming and all.
Actually, according to this story,, it’s only four days per week: Tuesday-Friday afternoons at 4:30 pm eastern, then a two-hour block from 9-11 pm on Friday nights.
Still, better than a stick in the eye!
