Community season finale

Surprised I’m the first. Well, over-all it was an OK episode but I was disappointed with the season cliff-hanger. Jeff having to choose between three women? Seemed so cliched.

I feel the same way. The highlight for me was when I almost died - when the second Dalmatian suit came in right as I was in a coughing fit, which degenerated into a coughing-laughing-wheezing-dying fit.

The Dalmatians were weird. And I wonder why they jumped into the fight with Señor Chang and Professor Duncan. I guess it’s because it’s what real dogs would do?

That was pretty much the point. It’s almost like Abed himself wrote this episode. It was blatantly the most cliche season finale ever. It had all the minor characters returning (seriously, I almost completely forgot about John Oliver), public declarations of love, and big season changing decisions.

Also, I’m on Team Annie. Despite the age difference, there’s a good chemistry between the two.

And one side note, I loved Troy’s giant cookie.

I think that was part of the ‘jumping the shark’ theme they were having. Plus, I don’t think Britta or Prof. Slater really loved Jeff. They just wanted him because there was another woman vying for his attention. See: Britta’s inability to lose an argument to Troy or high school kids. When it turned out she didn’t win the Tranny Prom, she lost her trump card against Slater and so she had to one-up it by declaring her love for Jeff. Hence why Slater immediately declared her love as well and why Jeff was so weirded out by both of them.

The storylines did feel really rushed though. Maybe it would have worked out better if it was given a whole hour? The best part was Troy’s cookie. I want to go to there.

Edit: You just had to sneak in there ahead of me, enalzi!

I missed an episode or two because I didn’t realize that Annie was going out with whats-his-name.

giant cookie was genius.

Giant cookie - check.

But best was, “You know, a long time ago there was a show where a guy *literally *jumped over a shark on a motorcycle, and it was the best episode ever!

I think I’m on Team Annie, too. I like how they built that up. I also agree that no one really loves Jeff, and it was just competition out of control, and I think they played it that way. I loved the way Gillian Jacobs delivered, “Do you love me?” So perfect.

That was literally what I was going to say. Lliterally.

I loved that line when I heard it. Troy’s realization with the giant cookie was pretty funny, too.

I think everyone had a good moment, including Sr. Chang. Even though some of the stuff was telegraphed a mile away (who didn’t think Chang wasn’t going to be able to punch the guy out?), it was all very well done. When they used every “season finale” trope they could, they winked at us while doing it.

I enjoyed Abed repeatedly turning out the lights while trying out different “final lines”:
“Last call.”
“Study over.”

But, while they winkingly mocked all the “finale” cliches, at the same time I think they fell into a common finale trap by trying to cram too much into one episode. The whole thing felt kind of rushed and disjointed.

Still a great show, though!

Did they ever even announce who won the Tranny Prom? Maybe Britta did win it, after they got around to reading the name. What was going on was much more interesting, so I thought they forgot.

And is Troy Pierce’s valet now? Butler? Chauffeur? Pool boy?

I’m also on Team Annie, and thought they did that portion of it well. With drama ensuing inside, and women throwing themselves at Jeff simply because the other women are throwing themselves at Jeff, he and Annie share an honest moment together. In fact, Jeff and Annie pretty much don’t do anything EXCEPT be honest with each other - it’s a good relationship.

But mostly it’s because I want to be Jeff Winger, and I want to bang Annie. This neatly serves both delusions.

The Wife did ask “What’s so great about him (Jeff)?”

The Daughter’s answer was “Do you see the other choices?”

This was a letdown after the paintball episode, but it still had me laughing.

Dean Pelton called for them to help.

I appreciate the “pack every cliche in” idea, but frankly I can’t say I’m happy with the idea of Winger getting all the girls. It’s very jump-the-sharky

You know, a long time ago there was a show where they literally jumped a shark, and it was the best episode ever.

I’m the only one who think Jeff’s kind of a slut? He slept with Pierce’s daughter too, didn’t he?

He’s not supposed to be a great guy.

I don’t know about that. I mean, in the very beginning yes; But he’s been the sensible one more often than not. He’s playing with fire, now that Annie’s in the picture.
I don’t know, I’m not saying Annie shouldn’t be on his radar, but to kiss her at that time was not responsible or sensible.

Two women he’s slept with in the same few months just told him they loved him. How old is Jeff? I know he was protective of Annie with the former BF, due to her being young and naive… does he really think he’s any better than him in that regard?

I’m Just saying, he’s kind of a slut.
