Community - Sixth Season

I think it’s the best the show’s been since Season 3. It feels more like itself again - specifically, like Season One.

I watched on my XBox, saw no playback issues. Or commercials.

So Shirley, Pierce, and Troy are all gone?

Yvette Nicole Brown asked to be let out of her contract due to a family matter. The character of Pierce has been killed off and Chevy Chase did nothing but complain about the show when he was on it, and Donald Glover left early last season to focus more on his rap career as Childish Gambino.

I’ve now watched up through episode 4. Still funny and worth the time to watch it. The Dean is 2/7 gay and 5/7??? I’m curious, intellectually.

He’s going to SeaWorld!

NM: I mistook Brian Van Holt for David Keith.

Still, it would have been kinda cool if it’d been David Keith and he and Keith David finally got a project together.

“I make gayness look like Mormonism.”

First, there’s the Dalmations…

I assume it has resolved itself since she’s on The Odd Couple. :dubious:

What happened to the cool old ex-cop guy? I liked his interaction with Abed. The new old guy (the virtual reality guy) isn’t nearly as good.

He left for a turn in Albuquerque.

Saul was a better gig for him. Where he plays a hard-ass but fairly evil old ex-cop.

I’ll have to check out Saul then. I really liked the actor.

The show is pretty good, Jonathan Banks (the old ex-cop) is probably the best thing about it. The 10 episode season is already done though, but should be available on demand from AMC in various ways.

If you haven’t already, I suggest you go to Breaking Bad first. Better Call Saul is a prequel, and he’s playing the same role. If you watch Saul first, it might make be weird if you then go to watch BB and know more about him (and some other characters) before you should.

Also, he’s awesome in BB, so if you like the actor, definitely watch BB.

Supposedly that show’s shooting schedule was easier or something.

Interesting that Brian Van Holt only appeared on a tablet screen, as he did the same thing just a week before on the Cougar Town finale (sorry, Abed!, you’ll always have Inspector Spacetime)

I’d actually held off on watching that one for a week, and watched it fairly shortly before watching this, so the effect was magnified.

I thought the 4/21 Honda™ episode was the best so far this season. As for playback issues, I watch on an Android tablet via a slow dsl connection, and I found that setting the Yahoo! Screen app to play at 360p fixed most of the slowdown issues, but still with good video quality.

This recent Honda ad with Abed and the Dean is also great.

The last episode just aired and Community does navel gazing like never before. But still good.

I would rate this season quite high actually (I don’t care about ranking seasons - who cares if season2 is better than 5 if both are good). I’ve watched most of the episodes at least twice and have found genuine laughs in each one. Whatever happens now, I’m still along for the ride.

Last episode note

I’m glad they got Yvette Nicole Brown in for a cameo. It was fun seeing her interact with Keith David at least a little (with random person in the background). I wish Donald Glover could have appeared in a pitch.

If you haven’t seen it, this was a great finale. I hope they don’t bring the show back just because this was a perfect ending. Except for the Movie of course

Wow, yeah, what a way to end this season. Despite the fact that they never let you forget that they were a TV show this season, that airport scene was still pretty tough.

I think Yahoo should let them make a movie, there’s no reason there can’t be a “Community Reunion Movie.”

In the last scene in the bar, who was peering at the remaining characters from the men’s room?
The cursing was a bit jarring, but not in a bad way.
