Done with clay play for today. I made a winged monster, and glazed two other pieces. One is a dog done in stars and stripes - orange stars over green/yellow/cream stripes. Cute, huh? The monster’s body was decorated with scales which I did in shades of blue, turquoise, and greens. I’m going to call him a Scalien. Get it - scaly alien!
I think I may throw a cat and decorate it with a tartan design, and call it a plaid-y-puss.
I’ll quit now.
I’m starting to wonder if **welby ** and **welbywife ** bought a boat yesterday and just sailed away! That’s the only acceptable excuse for pics not being posted yet. Unless he’s waiting for the next MMP - I might buy that reason.

Actually, it was on a green 'stang, when we know Da Beer’s is red. On the side, it said ‘SwampBear Edition’ and had your cartoon avatar.

Sounds nice. I had to get up for a 10 am wedding OUTSIDE at the Morton Arboretum with no shade. Talk about brutal heat! I was soaking wet by the end of it.
And I get to spend the next week or so preparing to move to Lisle. On the other hand, ladies, I’ll be living alone

Axually 'Stang is dark metallic gray with red leather interior. It’s class all the way.
Dinner tonight was yummerificly jake! She made meat loaf, smashed N.O.T., green peas, rolls and dessert was fruit, cheese and crackers. The sauce for the meatloaf was really, really good. I asked her how she made it and it’s simple. All it is is onion, bell pepper, and garlic all chopped up and sauteed in a little evoo. Then dump in a big can of crushed maters juice and all and let it simmer. YUM! I put some on my meatloaf and my smashed N.O.T.. We had grapes, strawberries, plums, goat cheese, whole milk mozzarella, hoop cheese and some of those rosemary flavored Triscuits [sup]TM[/sup] for dessert. Da bear is full!

I’m back from the Beautiful Land.
I visited friends, and met some interesting people. Two of these peope had just bought some land to build a house on, which happened to contain an ex-junkyard that just happened to contain truckloads of usable building materials: bricks still on their pallets, barnboard, tinber, metal roofing materials, and all sorts of incredibly-useful stuff. An amazing haul.
Two other of my friends unexpectedly showed up and brought a ‘Yay <MyRealName>’ cake to celebrate my getting the registration and my birthday! I’ve never had a Yay cake before! :: snif :: 
I met a man who is the cousin of Mike Holmes.
And I have a client, my first official after-the-registration house-drawing client!
And my domain-name registrar talked to my web-hosting service and got all their name-server problems sorted out, and now my new domain name for this little business is functioning, and I just have to do the website.
So I have kind of a lot to do now…

It appears that my life becomes my own again tomorrow. LocalBestFriend and baby are out of the hospital. We had a late dinner over there, but parents’ stuff was still over here. I figured LBF and her hubby would like to have one night at home with baby to themselves, so they’ll be coming to get Mom and Dad tomorrow while I’m at work. It’s been fun to have them around, but I have lots of work stuff I need to do (wanted to do some this weekend, but it didn’t work that way) and that’s starting to worry me.
Baby is still very cute. She’s learning to eat pretty well and generally quiet except when they wake her up because it’s time to eat. She doesn’t like the waking up stuff yet. I imagine she won’t mind so much once she figures out it always means it’s time to eat.
I’m tired, though. At least I’ll be on a real vacation for 10 days in less than a month. MBG, Hank, rigs, and anyone in the Chicago area, you already have September 7 MMPFest on the calendar, right? Any suggestions on where to meet? I’m not tied to any specific place that night; after that, I’ll be downtown. (Should probably talk to FarawayBestFriend and confirm her plans.)
Off to bed. I have to get up early and figure out what awaits me at work. Hugs to all…
