Cones on the Loose - an orange MMP

Ditto. Sorry to hear that she’s not doing well, SCL.

I tried to stop in while the board was down, too. I’ve been home all day waiting for the gas meter reader. Had to go into work for a 2-hour meeting, but other than that, I’ve been home getting stuff done. Meter reader still hasn’t been here, that I can tell; I figured s/he’d stop by while I was gone, but they didn’t leave the card they usually do, so I’m thinking there’s a chance they’ll still stop by.

Shrimp with fetuccine sound yum, Mork.

Sorry to hear about your parents’ neighbor, Dotty. We lost a colleague to an aneurysm a couple weeks ago. So sad.

Well, I’ve been taking a break from cleaning and organizing. Guess I’d better get back to it.

{{{{{{scl and libby}}}} It is so hard to see a loved one suffer. :frowning:

taxi, a propeller??? That’s hysterical!

Okay, I am a bad person. I got annoyed when a cow-orker made a snarky comment to me the other day so I am on a campaign. This woman has been parading herself as a former Broadway talent among other things. So, today I googled her. Yeah, she’s a talent alright. She’s the voice of a mechanical monkey in a animatronic pizza joint. I laughed out loud. I am SO going to hell. :stuck_out_tongue:

You should buy her some cheap mechanical monkey toy, like the one that bangs the cymbals, and leave it on her desk anonymously. Extra points if you can work a pizza theme into it, like attach some pizza coupons to it.

Wile E, I like the way you think… hehehe

Hey, I just realized - as of the first of this month, I’ve been a Doper for 7 years! Can’t believe it’s been that long.

Dotty, ~waving excitedly~ :::bounce, bounce, bounce:::

Thank you so much for that song. I saw it before I drifted off to sleep and I think it helped because today I’m MUCH better. And I think I figured out what was bothering me, but that’s a whole 'nother story.

Sorry to hear about your parent’s neighbors. How tragic!!

gotti, I laughed when I heard about FCM (first class mail). It never occurred to me either.

I used to sew a lot of my own clothes, so after you told me that you all made your costumes, I went back to look at the pictures. Wow, the designs on those are fabulous!! And the intricate work is amazing! Collectively, those outfits must represent hundreds of hours of work. How neat and fun!
**
Nava**, a girl can’t appear to be easy even in a Wench costume?! Wow.

It’s getting better. I understood the last two words.

doggio, considering it was in the 100’s a day before the 80’s, it was indeed cold here. And that cat picture looks like an experiment that got a little out of hand.

What does this mean?
**
BBBobbio**, sorry to hear about your cyberstalker. I went back and read more about it. And it seems like you were able to cut off all ties. How did she find you again?

puggy, your pool doesn’t seem overly big. That one in the picture looked HUGE!

Taters, have a good trip!

{{{SCL}}}, so sorry to hear about Libby.
It’s a much better day today for me. The sun is shining and I got some more strawberries, peaches and grapes. And yes, I got me some sweet corn too. Yum!

{{{SCL}}} I’m sorry to hear about Libby.
I grabbed my suitcase to kinda dust it off (I use it pretty rarely) and cleaned out the inside. I left it out to dry and Kitt immediately laid down in it and went to sleep. I guess I have a stowaway.

I couldn’t help but make a lolcat of it: Vacashuns?

OK back to packing.

QB - cute kitty pic!

Once, several years ago, my friends and I volunteered at the local PBS station’s pledge drive, but we did not wear costumes. In fact, I’ve never worn a costume while doing a charitable/worthwhile gig. Plenty of other times, but not then.

Anything else I have to say has already been said (such is life with access at work)

Gee, thanks, MBG. Guess what I drive across tomorrow? Nebraska! Parts of Iowa were pretty, mostly it was fairly boring, but the sheer amount of corn growing was somewhat impressive in and of itself.

I think if it’s electronic and fun, except for a stereo, my brother and his roommate have it. On the coffee table in front of me are five remotes, plus controllers for two different game systems. And they have an HDTV. green He turned it on just to show it off. Brat.

We’re going to go eat so I should quit yammering here, but I survived Day 2. Tomorrow is a rest day. Then – Nebraska. And Wyoming, and part of Utah, and then into Idaho. This trip is letting me add a few states to the list of ones I’ve been to – and my definition of that is my having set foot on the ground there, except in an airport.

If you like corn, you’ll love Nebraska. Are you taking the Interstate or the back roads?

Since she’s out to dinner, I’ll answer for Alabaster Bunny: Interstates. To get the driving over with as fast as possible.

But she’s wrong about one thing, or I think she is – her brother told me last year he’d sold his XBox because he didn’t get enough use out of it. Of course, his roommate may well have one, so if so, [Emily Litella]never mind.[/EL]

I really tried to stay awake this afternoon, but I finally gave up and took a nap. I’m not sure it helped, but at least I’m awake again. Ice cream for dessert didn’t hurt, either, of course. Not that it helps keep me awake, but hey, it’s still ice cream! (Turkey Hill Fried Ice Cream, to be specific.) Life is always better with Turkey Hill.

His roommate has an XBox360.

Of course. Geeks, the lot of 'em.

Sorry to hear about Libby, SCL.
I made banana bread, brownies, Greek chicken and white cheddar mac and cheese today. The chicken and the pasta are for lunch the next 3 days at work–I will NOT buy so called food in that so called cafeteria–not after the maggot story. Don’t care if it’s not true–the thought of it makes me cringe (long story that I may use as an MMP one day-never mind).
Today was sweltering and just plain nasty-but no rain. I stayed indoors mostly and rested, caught up with a friend on the phone, and watched the clock tick away my rest and alone-ness. Perhaps this makes me Bad Mother of the Year, but I have yet to miss ANY of my kids so far. They could stay away for another few days and that would be fine with me…The Husband, too, for that matter. He did stop calling me to tell me he’s going over various bridges though (finally).
Back to school stuff starts next week–the registration and buying of school supplies etc. Is anyone ready for this?

I just skimmed, I was ‘training’ all day. The class is all about this. The instructor is my kind of teacher - moving fast, making us do the work, stopping after breaks to answer questions.

I went to dinner at a sports bar not far from here, then ran back to my room, to watch the game, and the stooopid hotel tv doesn’t have the channel it’s on. So, I have the game on Gameday here on the 'puter.

Sheesh.

SCL all my best to Libby, have a hug.

Thanks, ya’ll. I just got back from the hospital - Libby’s kidneys are shutting down. She’s septic and is still sedated and on the respiratior. I saw her for a few minutes and told her to keep fighting. I’m going back up in the morning to sit with her sister.

This is not looking good, but all hope is not gone.

More prayers and hugs going out for Libby. She’s lucky to have such a loyal friend.

Got more cleaning done, then watched Bride and Prejudice again, partly with the little brother (who was cheating and watching baseball on his laptop as well). Still need to do some cleaning in the kitchen and could really de-clutter the office, but I’m pleased to report everything’s really looking quite civilized.

Off to sleep.

See, I was being all good and such…by the way, I don’t need the ehoopee cushion to make the noise.
