Howdy, all. I stayed up way too late because I went looking for a bit of leftover sock yarn that someone online needed to finish off the toe of a sock – it’s no loner being made, but I happened to have about half a skein in her colorway. Then, of course, I couldn’t find it anywhere, except I knew it was in my office. So I was digging through everything, and came across several UnFinished Objects (UFOs) that I had totally forgotten about, so then I realized I should make a list of all my current UFOs to see just how bad a case of startitis I’ve had lately. My conclusion: A very serious case. So I’ve made myself a promise: I have to finish at least two projects before I start another one. (Well, except for things like ongoing charity knitting.)
But then, of course, in sorting all this out, I started sorting out my knitting needles, and realized I had absolutely no clue where a couple sets of Harmony interchangeable points were, so then I dug some more, found a couple more UFOs, found a nice for-the-house workbasket I’d bought last year and totally forgotten about, several other things that had gotten buried…and at the end of all that, what did I discover?
That a few weeks ago I had taken assorted odd snippets of leftover yarns and put them in a bag and hung it from a hook on my office closet door. And where was the leftover yarn that started this whole process? Sitting in that bag, in plain sight.
:smack: :smack: :smack:
Then, of course, my office was totally torn up, so I had to sort/organize it as much as I was willing to at that hour of the night, just so I could face it this morning. So by the time I got to bed, it was nearly dawn.
My circadian rhythms are so effed up it’s not even funny now!
Anyway, Isaac, our lab, has been developing arthritis, so we started him on a glucosamine supplement last summer, which definitely helped. When that ran out, we decided to try one that also had chondroitin in it, and he’s been on that for about 2-3 weeks now. And wow! what a difference it’s making. Before we switched, he still wanted to go out to play, but only lasted maybe 10 minutes, if that. Now he’s good for 30-45 minutes, or even, as this morning, over an hour – Papa Tigs took them over to the schoolyard, where they played with their doggie friends (it’s the unofficial early morning dog park) the German shepherd and the black lab, and clearly Isaac was feeling good. He was still feeling good an hour ago when the guy from our local volunteer fire department came around for one of their voluntary contribution drives, and Isaac smelled dog all over him so promptly fetched his Kong for the guy to throw for him.
Dogs are ridiculous! But we’re really, really happy he’s feeling so much better; it’s awful to see your pet hurting enough he can’t enjoy his favorite activity.
Back to work. This weekend I’ve got mountains of it, not that you’d know by how much I’ve managed to get done thus far today. :smack: Everybody have a good day! And give my grandkitty extra brushes and skritches and cuddles from me, snowbunny!
ETA: The multidirectional is actually astonishingly easy, taxi; it only looks hard. If you can do garter stitch and SSK, you can knit it. What Noro colors are you using for your scarf?
