Confirmed: Family Guy coming back!!

Mmmm, i can’t wait to see what kind of devilish hyjinx Stewie gets himself into. Anyone know if the same writers are coming back as well?

I was thinking the same thing. Though to totally undo the evil, we may need to forever eliminate the last few seaons of Simpsons…

Giggity
Giggity
Gigg-it-y.

And folks, lovin’ Futurama and Family Guy ain’t a mutually exclusive proposition.

This is good news, now if they would just bring back Futurama, and Firefly back as others have already mentioned. Also I will add that the last few episodes of the Simpsons have been pretty good.

Seth is pulling in a lot of writers from the show’s first and second seasons, and a few from the third (the writing staff almost completely turned over between the second and third seasons, as it was assumed there wouldn’t be a third season until the 11th hour). And of course, Alex Borstein, in addition to voicing Lois, Diane, Asian reporter Tricia Takanawa, et al, also wrote for the show.

I’m giddy … it’s gonna be a long wait until January 05.

Considering half the posters so far have voiced disapproval, this thread is more of a referendum on the show than an ooh-yeah.

And you can chalk me up as another who loathes this trash. Family Guy is a lame pastiche of bits from several other shows, poorly executed, rarely amusing. It’s only use is as a litmus test for stupidity; “I just looooove family guy lollers” means think twice and wear a condom. The show deserved cancellation and the jeers of an angry populace. No cable network short of a premium can afford it. No broadcast network can afford the attendant fines. May it never darken my boob tube again.

Giggity Giggity Giggity Goo!

And I, for one, loathed Futurama with the fiery passion of a thousand suns. And I loathe Family Guy thread-pissers even more.

I say, don Jaime, can you hear me back there? Hello, can you hear me back there in the condom aisle since you clearly cannot see this is not a referendum thread.

Half the posters? REALLY, half the posters voiced disapproval? What High School statistics class did you flunk?

Well I, for the record, am glad Family Guy is coming back.

And I liked “Futurama” too. (But if push came to shove, I’d prefer that Family Guy come back above Futurama.)

Comedy Central would probably be ideal for Family Guy since they can probably afford the episdoes more than Cartoon Network and would have more freedom than they would on Fox. But wherever Family Guy ends up, I’ll be watching.

This thread is making me f-ing cry.

Very cunning, adding the smily. Now if someone comes in and says “actually it was LAUGH AND cry”, you can just say, “which is why I used the smily”. Making them look stupid.

Unless they did it kind of like I just did.

Good news indeed.

[Stewie]Damn you ice cream, come to my mouth![/Stewie]

“Permission to freak out!”

And FTR, I was (and am) ambivalent about Futurama. Didn’t like it, didn’t dislike it.

Count me as another in the “thrilled” column. I love this news more than taffy, and I’m a woman who loves her taffy. Whether or not Fox bobbled the ball on the first go 'round is irrelevant, a second chance is a gift horse into whose mouth I shall not gaze.

And to those ruthlessly absurd amongst us who are bent on making this a FG vs. Futurama or FG referendum thread (mark my words, your uppance will come) I have but one thing to say.

[Peter Griffin] Oh, you people can kiss the fattest part of my ass! [/Peter Griffin]

I’m glad to see FG’s resurrection, and I’d be happy to see Futurama back as well. They’re both funny in their own ways–FG is visceral, Futurama is more cerebral, but they’re both great.

This brings up an interesting question. In these troubling post-SuperBoob, Stern-censoring, Big Bush Is Watching times, will Seth be forced to tone down the show? Man, that would suck, but it wouldn’t surprise me.

Pash (fan of both FG and Futurama)

Family Guy is great. Glad to hear the news.

Futurama I don’t watch/enjoy, but respect others who do.

I know that different ‘crowds’ try to look down on others because one may think Futurama is more a thinking persons show, where you have to ‘get’ everything…or maybe some think you have to ‘get’ the Family Guy, and therefore you can be a tad more snooty.

Some reverse it and frown upon the Family Guy crowd, as they consider it childish and not very deep.

Whatever!

If you like the Family Guy, then this is good news. If you don’t, then be very vocal and committed to what you like to encourage more of it on TV. The fact that Family Guy can make a come back is promising for fans of all genres.

Someone is listening. That’s a good thing. Why, yes…yes it is. It is a good thing.

Anyone else see the possibly strategic choice of a January 2005 release date?

Damn right. I’m a fan of both shows, but I’m also a fan of Star Wars and Star Trek so maybe I’m just wierd.

Anyone have any info on the Futurama DVD sales?
