I really want a cool desktop like this one, but the program that the person used to get that seems pretty confusing so I’d like to avoid that.
At the moment my desktop looks like this, which is OK but not cool enough!
Any ideas of what programs to use and if anybody has a cool desktop they would like to share, please go ahead.

I got it from ThemeXP.org, the wallpapers are here.
They have loads so you should find one you like.
Click on your link. Click in the url bar and hit enter or the “go” button. That’s what I did.

I believe what you are after is skins - themes that change all your Windows icons. Try customize or alienware
Don’t Windows skins in general bog down the machine?
i think it’s worth mentioning that the first link you posted is not a windows desktop.
Sounds like you want something like Stardock’s Object Desktop
I tried this Soothing Desktop for a little while, but it made my icons hard to see.
