Networks charge the cable company to play their channel - somewhere between $.30 and 3 per month per channel. The NFL network charges a high price for a specialty network, something like .85. Cable companies feel that only a small portion of their viewers will be interested in the network, and they don’t want to charge everyone an extra $.85, so they roll it up into a sports package (usually including other specialty sports channels) that customers can volunteer to pay extra for. But customers don’t want to incur all of the costs for stuff like racing channels and such when they’re only interested in the NFL network.
I don’t follow football. I watched the Packers Lions game on Thanksgiving with the family and I have caught the bug to some extent. So, who have beat Dallas and Green Bay respectively?

I am a Dallas fan and I feel bad for him.
That’s actually Bryant, not Greg. I thought it was Greg, too. I couldn’t understand why I thought he was so bad, because I always enjoy him on the pregame show. Then I checked the nfl network webpage and saw that it’s not Greg at all, but Bryant, and that was question was answered. The question of why he is still there? He has pictures of Connie Chung and Jerry Jones in flagrante is my guess.

I was torn on whether I should pony up the 6 bucks to get an extra sports tier that I’ll probably never watch, but there’s no penalty for cancelling after a month and now I’m glad I paid.
The only thing better that seeing the Packers get blown out is seeing Favre with an injured arm. I hope it’s broken. I hope it’s over for him. I hope he never takes another snap. That would be so awesome.
And it’s beginning to look the I, and some other person, made the right decision. 
It’s still early, Dallas is perfectly capable of blowing this thing.

Not quite. If you have DISH you get the NFL Network. I think Direct TV may get it too as part of their Sunday Ticket.

Sorry. That was kind of uncool. It’'s just the spiteful schadenfruede of an embittered Vikings fan. I don’t really mean that stuff.
It looks like Rodgers is doing better than Favre was anyway. Favre looked set to have one of his patented, multiple interception, horrible performances. The Packers might be better off with #4 on the bench.
