Cracked Black Pepper and Olive Oil Triscuit's = Ambrosia!

So I’m stocking up at Dominick’s last night and I cruise down the cracker aisle to pick up some lovely Triscuits and Saltines, I notice that there’s a 2 for $5.00 sale on Triscuits so I take the opportunity to grab a new flavor to try.

Now here I sit eating some Cracked Black Pepper and Olive Oil Triscuits with some Port Wine cheese spread and I think I’ve found Xanadu. Verily, it’s a plethora of delightful flavors that I never suspected to compliment and bolster one another to such a grand degree.

I urge, nay implore, that you fine snacking Dopers invest in the joy that these beautiful things can bring you.

I love Triscuits. Here is something I’ve found to be amazing:
Triscuits topped with a light spread of cream cheese, topped with a fresh basil leaf (about dime or nickel sized) and a piece of fresh tomato. Mmmm. Now I want some.

Of course they are also good all by themselves. While I’ve had the different flavors and enjoy them, I think I still like the plain ones best.

The new flavors are surprisingly good. I like the rye ones, also. Sure beats the old bale o’ hay crackers.

What are the top 5 ingredients listed? I’m a little wary of any processed foods, no matter how delicious.

Whole Wheat, Soybean Oil, Maltodextrin, Salt, Onion and Garlic Powders.

I like the Rosemary / Olive oil ones

Brian

The rye ones are good, as are the sun dried tomato ones.

I’d like to know what those flavorings would taste like in a regular cracker.

While I agree that the Rye ones and the Sun Dried Tomato ones are quite nice indeed, the Black Pepper ones reach a new height of flavor that must be sampled to be appreciated.

I agree compeltely. This is the first cracker of any kind that my wife has heard me specifically request in our 13 years of marriage. Yowza!

Awww, you are making me regret that I just went and bought a box of the plain ones.

whimper

It’s nice to know that I am not the only recent addict to these New Fangled Snack Crack…ers.
One box is a meal itself.

Triscuits used to have an “Herb” flavor I liked, but haven’t seen lately. the Sun Dried Tomato is also good, and yeah, the Black Pepper & Olive Oil is pretty impressive. I can’t buy too much of this stuff because I’d end up living on it.

Triscuits are amazing, though.

I agree with the OP. Those are the best flavored Triscuits, although the rosemary are tasty, and the roasted garlic are also great.

Can someone tell me if the rye have caraway seeds/flavor in them?

While I love them, beware the Roasted Garlic. I was addicted to them while I was pregnant, and my husband told me my resulting bad breath was what drove him to sleep on the sofa for weeks. Do NOT try to snuggle after Roasted Garlic Triscuits.

I liked the Garden Herb ones, but I haven’t found them for a few years, and the Rosemary & Olive Oil are good, too.

I love the rosemary and olive oil ones, especially with a slice of mozzarella or provolone and a slice of tomato, but the Black pepper ones I will eat plain…they are that good. My boss has had a box of them out for nibbling, and I finished them off tonight…have to buy more on my way to work tomorrow.

Now if only the flavored Wheat Thins were as good…several of those have been so bad I’ve thrown the box away without finishng them…

I just came back from Meijer with a box.
I hope you’re happy with yourself.

And here I am, stuck with a box of Trader Joe’s Kashi TLC 7-grain crackers. Rats.

Triscuits are in a cracker class by themselves. My faves are the rosemary, but garden herb is wicked tasty too, and even the original plain are crunchy good.

Now I want some… :frowning:

By the way, if you like the rosemary flavor, you should check out Carr’s Rosemary Crackers. YUM!!! I like to smush some up and stir them into my Boston Market cream of tomato and basil soup.

I’m downright giddy as a matter of fact. Be sure to explore the topping options, it only makes them better.
