You’re so sweet. Thanks
OK, it only took, like, forever, but here we go…
A convention I was attending* asked me to create a sign-in book. “Rumored to be the creator’s personal spell book.”
The Octavo
Here it is with a lady signing it, to give you an idea of scale:
The Octavo is big

Some of my felted stuff- the pic with the snails in is the stuff I’m working on right now, hence the really fuzzy edges that I haven’t quite finished.
The ones in that pic all contain magnets, which is incidently an excellent way of breaking felting needles…
Holy fuck, that is a thing that is big!
The sad thing is that I can’t see the felt stuff on my t
iny phone. I should stick to my conviction to not post on my phone.
Those are really cool, gave me some ideas for what I refer to as my American Bonsai.
I like this guy a lot.
Love the felted critters, Filbert!
My beading group just did a bead swap. Assigned partners sent each other a focal bead, a clasp, and some coordinating beads, and we had to make a piece with what we received. We were required to use the focal, the clasp, and at least some of the coordinating beads, and we could whatever we wanted from our own stash.
I actually broke the rules, because I made a lariat and didn’t use the clasp.
Here’s pics of the beads I received and the resulting piece. I just finished it yesterday.
freckafree, how do you go about joining a bead exchange? I’d love to do something like that, especially if it is internet based.
Love the lariat.
Very pretty, freckafree!
I’d be into a bead swap, too. That’s a great idea.
That’s exactly what they are. I’ve seen them done with big jump rings to go on the needle, or lobster-claw clasps (for crochet or for marking a row you want to count from) or loops of wire/tiger tail/fishing line.
Here is my entry for the fairs this year (apologies for the somewhat washed-out photo):
It’s made from gorgeous UK Fabric Freedom pattern fabrics and Fossil Ferns for the background.
One bump
gigi, I thought for sure I had come in here to say how gorgeous that quilt is. Maybe the hamsters ate my post. Anyhow, it’s lovely. The yellow pieces almost seem to move as I look at it. Wish I could see it for reals. I’m glad you bumped this so I could say Nice Job.
I am making a baby blanket right now for a friend’s great-grandchild. It’s green and yellow and in my mind I am referring to it as the John Deere blanket, but it’s really quite pastel and pretty. (We don’t know sex of child.) But it’s as boring as cultivating corn (if there are any farmers in the crowd); round and round and round. It’s just a big square knitted in the round (heh) and will turn out somewhat like the one linked here except much less bright. I really liked the bright one but this great-grandma has stated that baby things should be pastel, so…
Anybody else working on something?
Heh – as you can tell from my photos, I have a hard time using pastels even for babies. “Babies like bright colors!” But maybe they don’t need to be stimulated when it’s sleepy time. I like the design you are doing – it reminds me of a postage stamp quilt.

Thanks for the kind comments – it has gone to the fairs so we will see.
That is simply gorgeous!
:o Thank you so much.
I gotthis pattern recently and started planning to use Fossil Ferns again* so it reads more as solid of various shades of green, blue, and yellow/orange and not as patterny as hers.
But it’s over 600 pieces, and the squares are one-inch square. I may have to resize it to be able to work it with my bear paws!

For NADWCon 2013, I created my impression of the Great Organ of Unseen University (youtube links):
Great Organ 1
Great Organ 2
Great Organ 3
Great Organ Rotating Turrets
OK, I had to look up what that was :o but how cool! The rotating pipes are wonderful.
Since school let out, I’ve been weaving with all my spare time. I’m also supposed to be cleaning and organizing my loom room, but… there’s a hella fabric and crafty stuff in there.

I’ve never posted a link before, so here’s hoping this works!
Gorgeous! Love the colors.
