Craig Ferguson is pretty damn funny...

Much better than Letterman, Leno, and even Conan. I wish they’d kick Letterman out and give Ferguson the late show gig.

He seems like he’s actually having fun and enjoying himself every night. Letterman seems like he doesn’t really want to be there.

Agreed. I’ve been touting Ferguson ever since I discovered him a few months ago. He seems to be more at ease with himself and his guests all the time.

And his monologs are fantastic. I timed one last week at 13 minutes, or more than one-quarter of the entire show minus commercials. Even Leno doesn’t do monologs that long, let alone riffing on one subject. Compared to Letterman - or Conan - who seem to hate doing the monolog, that’s good stuff.

He’s being recognized for the show as well. His hosting the People’s Choice Awards didn’t turn out very well, but most people will forget that, and he has a novel coming out in April that will get lots of attention, whether the book is good or bad.

I’m also liking Ferguson the most out of all the late-night hosts. His monologues are the best. They’re actual monologues, not just few half-ass one-liners.

His interviewing seems to be better than the others also. It may just be that he does seems interested and isn’t burnt out on the whole thing like the others seem to be.

I love Craig Ferguson! I try to stay up and at least watch the opening monologue.

That guy has the best monologues EVER. I wonder if he writes them himself? And how far he veers from the script if he doesn’t?

I agree with all that has been said, and can only add that I have a man-sized crush on him. He’s in my company’s e-mail address book and it takes all I’ve got not to write a gushing declaration of love to him. In fact, the only thing that stops me from begging him to be my wee cheeky love monkey is the fact that I’d probably be fired for sexual harassment, and he probably wouldn’t even be the one reading it. Sigh. That’s me; Wookinpanub :frowning:

I agree that Ferguson is light years more entertaining than the rest of the late-night crowd.

I swear I remember hearing something about how he ad libs most of the monologue. I’m trying to find some kind of confirmation of that now, but no luck.

I think he’s got a great warmth and natural charisma, and as far as comedy goes, when he’s on he’s really on. When he’s not, he’s still a pleasure to watch.
