In some dishes, like Cantonese salt & pepper shrimp, you are expected to eat the shrimp, shells and all. So you’re not that weird for thinking to eat the tails.
Yum, right. I’d forgotten about salt and pepper shrimp. Yup, I eat the shells on those.
It’s probably either free calcium, or a slight risk of a punctured intestine.
@running_coach , do please re-read the title of this thread, paying careful attention to all the words therein.
(Anyone who says Circus Peanuts is thread-shitting. )
But I lovvvve them sooooo… (hugs cellophane bag to chest, runs offscreen, sobbing).
I also like Deep Fried Twinkies and Peeps and Lucky Charms (I think the “marshmallows” are related to Circus Peanuts).

Circus Peanuts are a toxic waste disposal system.

You and Circus Peanuts!?

IIRC, QtM has mentioned this aberration before.
For those who loathe marshmallows (@pkbites, I think this was you?), this poster included, there is one recipe that works:
Melt some marshmallows in a pot. Stir in Trix. Spread out on a baking sheet to cool. Cut into squares, or (while still warm) form into balls. ETA: Leave pot for someone else to clean.
I agree with that, except I prefer Rice Krispies. Also skip spreading on a baking sheet or forming into balls – just eat the mixture with a spoon right out of the pot – minimizes need for clean-up.
Fried Marathon Dim Sims.
Awww…I can’t find the post about the difficulty with ordering a cheeseburger without cheese, but here’s a classic skit by Hawaii comic Rap Replinger: https://youtu.be/Iz3rubGrGZQ?t=92. Hid pidgin English may be unintelligible to non-Hawaii locals, but I think the humor comes through clearly.
His album and TV special, which is this from was well known and beloved by anyone in Hawaii in the 80’s. Say “PEN, RUSSELL, PEN!” to anyone who was here will know exactly what you mean!
Sadly Rap overdosed on drugs and passed away without making another album. Thank you for the memories and big laffs Rap!
My real life experience was at a local drive-in. This was obviously the young cashier’s first day as she nervously struggled with the McDonald’s like cash register. I ordered a fried chicken plate and a grilled ham and cheese.
She pecked at the register and nervously repeated, chicken plate and grilled ham and cheese.
Yes, please!
Would you like cheese with that???
I thought of Rap and nearly choked on my laugh as I turned to my girlfriend, but managed to say, “Yes, a grilled ham AND cheese sandwich please”.
When two young girls I knew told me they were going to work at the drive-thru at Jack In The Box, I jokingly quizzed them. What if a customer asked for:
A cheeseburger without cheese
A hamburger with cheese
A cheeseburger and hamburger without a hamburger.
One of the girls caught on and laughed, but I could tell her friend who was delightfully innocent was seriously thinking about what she would do!

Older brother to little brother: “Oooh, look. Green mulberries. I haven’t had these since before you were born. What a treat! Go ahead, they’re very sweet.”
It’s definitely not crap to eat black pepper on hot buttered salty popcorn. Everyone should try it once. Most people will eat popcorn that way once they’ve tried it!
i like popcorn with butter and lawry’s on it
Despite always having Lawry’s in the house, it never occurred to me to try it popcorn. Thanks, @nightshadea – I’m going to try it!
welcome …i know other places have seasoned popcorn salt but ita pretty much the same thing also just be sure to mix it up really good and a little goes a very long way lol

I like it on cottage cheese.
Popcorn does have a decent amount of protein and fiber.
I make my own popcorn sprinkle in a shaker with about three tablespoons of salt-free lemon pepper, half a teaspoon of sugar, and a quarter teaspoon of citric acid (“sour salt”). If the popcorn needs salt, I add it separately.
Never have liked the taste of butter on popcorn.
I used to have a friend who would put either soy sauce or tamari (whatever was handy) and grated Parmesan (yes, the dry canister kind) on popcorn. Wasn’t bad.
Macaroni and cheese mix from a box.
It has notes of leather, cheese, old socks, brazil nuts, cheese, cardboard box, pickled mini-corn, and cheese.
Try Johnny’s Seasoning Salt instead. I like it better than Lawry’s.
