Creepy or not? Waiter getting someone a date.

Well thank goodness you came in and revived this discussion almost a year later to let us know where you stand on this pressing issue.

Jesus H. A zombie thread? I gotta start looking out for that.

And deprive us of your “nice guy” opinion about how money talks when attempting to get a date with a woman? Don’t go changing.

Yeah, I’m way off-base here. Women (and men) don’t care if you make decent money. It’s meaningless. My sincerest apologies.

Why thank you. I will be sure to religiously check the date and time of every post I read from here out, to assure myself that I will not incur your wrath. In the course of digging through several links, I happened to forget that the internet, and the SDMB in general, is serious business.

Apologies.

I wonder what happened. Did he ever talk to her?

If you’re really sorry, show us your picture so we can all rate how handsome you are.

I can feel the wind off your backpedaling! Give me a break.

With this attitude I’m starting to really understand some of your previous threads, especially this one. Seriously, I love this place.

Backpedaling? Either you don’t understand sarcasm or you are seriously naive.

Oh, and bringing up past threads to insult me. That’s not petty.

We only know things about you because you shared them on a public forum on the internet, and we can only know posters by their posts (excepting off-board relationships of course). You should consider this when deciding what to share.

Ok. Not sure what to say. I’m a very different person than I was in 2009, or even early 2012. I feel like I’ve made some big steps since then. I like sharing stuff here too cause I usually get great advice. So I guess feel free to call it like you see it. I feel like I’m ok. My mom says she loves me. That’s gotta mean something.

What a coincidence… that’s what she says about me, too.

If she’s the only one who says it, it doesn’t mean much.

Oh yeah? Well my mom says I’m the most handsome boy in the world. That’s gotta mean a shit-ton.

Speak for yourself, pal. Means the world to me.

I’m sure it does.

As someone who is plain at best, let me say that some male strangers will do these things to any woman who is by herself.

Nah. I started dating someone about three weeks later.

For the record (and I think I said this earlier), I really did not want my friend the waiter to do this, and really did not seriously consider it. I was just asking how wacky it sounded to you folks. FTR, I’ve never sent a woman a drink in a bar, either, so the meal-buying thing was way out of my comfort zone from the beginning.
